The silver of the moon glinted in the grand windows of the academy and the gates gleamed just as the windows did. I shook the gate which made it rattle, breaking the silence of the night and echoing into the darkness.

"Just my luck," I grumble to myself, my voice weary from the exhausting trip. I begin to look around, but unsurprisingly find nothing and groaning in frustration.

"Only to me would this happen cause the universe just loves little ol me," I say with a sigh.

It was then when a dark figure speaks in a monotone fashion, seemingly as annoyed as I was.

"Can I help you?" His words shot like venom from his mouth.

"Um, I'm a new student here. I kinda had some issues getting here so I was late. Very late. I thought that- Would I by chance be able to get in?"

"New student hm?" They stepped out of the shadows that previously hid their features.

"What's your name?"

"(Y/n)."

"(Y/n)." He repeated, pausing before opening the gates. I entered the grounds steadily and I can feel his eyes sharply glaring at me and following my every move.

"This way." He walks past me and towards the grand building. I hear the gate behind us as it closes and I follow him, but still kept a good distance between us.

He continued into the main building leading me down a few halls and corners before we stopped in front of a large door made of dark wood.

"I'm coming in." He said as he pushed open the door.

"Aww. Who is that Zero? It seems you bought a cute little thing with you!" A voice called melodically as we entered.

"It's the new student," Zero replied as he stepped aside and sat on a nearby chair.

"Ohh~ I see. Allow me to introduce myself. I am Kaien Cross, but you can just call me Headmaster Cross." He said as he smiled sweetly.

"It's very nice to meet you, sir. I'm (Y/n) (L/n)."

"Well (Y/n) it's a pleasure to meet you. I'm guessing you are very tired, especially after arriving this late at night." He said in a worried and playful tone. I rub my eyes after his remark as it made me realize how tired I really was. I nodded.

"Well then, Zero," he says as he turns to him. "Could you please show the nice young lady to her room? She doesn't have a roommate so she won't be disturbing anyone."

"Sure." Zero replies flatly "Let's go then."

"Sleep well (Y/n)!!" I smile and wave to the Headmaster as the door closes.

Zero leads me down another series of long hallways and before I know it we arrive at my room.

"Here it is. There is a curfew and your uniform will be dropped off sometime tonight by a student named Yuki so don't worry if you hear something." I nod in response and enter my new room.

"Thank you. Have a good night." I say before shutting the door. I take a look at my new found home and smile.

It's quite big and roomy. It has two beds, likely because most others have a roomate. It has a big window and a royal red carpet covering the whole floor.

I study the room a bit longer, getting ready for bed soon after. I put on a plain grey shirt and some black shorts and later begin to read a manga called Attack on Titan which is actually a pretty good story.

It wasn't long after when I hear a knock at my door. I can see a dark shadow from the crack between the floor and the door.

"Come in," I reply softly trying not to wake anyone in any other rooms who are probably sleeping. Something I should really be doing about now. Shortly after a tall man in a white uniform enters my room holding some black clothing which is folded neatly.

"Um... What are-who are you?"

"My name is Kaname. I'm guessing you're (Y/n) yes?" I nod.

"It's nice to meet you and all, but where is Yuki? I was expecting her, not you. No offence."

"Yuki had some other business to attend to, so I am delivering your uniform in place of her."

"Oh. Thanks," I reply. He sets down the uniform on a nearby table and starts to walk towards me.

"What's the matter? You are acting surprised." He said stopping a few feet away.

"I just wasn't expecting you. Took me by surprise I guess,"

"I see." He looks away for a second and takes a step forward, turning his attention back to me after a moment. With us being closer than comfort I couldn't help but notice the oddly sweet sent of him. It was off putting, but unusually comforting.

"Well, I must be off. I hope you have pleasant dreams, (Y/n)." He said and I swore I saw a slight smile on his otherwise expressionless face.

He took his leave and I was left sitting on my bed in the dark . This is going to be an interesting school year, isn't it?

With that I flopped into bed and slowly drift off knowing that tomorrow will probably be something special.
