I was excited the entire week because my birthday party was coming up and all my friends were coming along with Aizen! But on the other hand, Kristina was coming as well.... I shook off the thoughts of thinking about worst case scenarios and decided to get myself ready.
I stepped into the shower just so I could shower away any doubts I had of Aizen and Kirstina hooking up. He complimented me and said it like he liked me so I'll take that as a sign.
Me and Kristina live in the same neighborhood so we decided to meet everyone at the restaurant where my birthday party would be held.
I know it's going to be an awkward bus ride because I know Kristina will just off about how pretty she looks and how she just dressed up so Aizen would notice her and blah blah blah. I know she's my friend and all but I'd really like it if she didn't show up. I want to keep her and Aizen as far away as possible.
Minutes after these rude thoughts came into my mind, my phone rang. I picked it up to look at the caller I.D and there it said "Kristina". I didn't know whether to feel relieved that God heard my prayers or that I should feel confused as to what she needs to tell me. I decided to grow a pair, man up and pick up the phone.
"*cough cough* Hello?... Crys-*cough cough*-tal.... you there?", she said barely finishing her sentence. She sounded awful.
"Jesus Kristina what the hell happened to you? Are you okay?", I asked her. A bullet with the words guilt written across it pierced my heart. How could I have thought of such rude things about her when she sounds like a dying cat.
"Yeah... I'm good but not good enough to make it to your party. I'm so sorry *cough cough*", she said with a voice that sounded like it had been to hell and back.
"No no, it's okay, just rest up and I'll make some chicken soup and swing it by your place later on tonight.... feel better though!", I told her, and I really did mean those words. I wanted her to get better because I would never wish her condition on anyone, not even my worst enemy.
We said our goodbyes and hung up. I was getting my makeup done right and wore my new shirt and jeans along with my favorite combat's. I was pretty depressed because she was so excited to be hanging out with Aizen and also, it'd be her first time with a bunch of senoirs, so she must have really been looking forward to it.
I pushed those feelings to the back of my mind because she would soon get over it and so should I. I called everyone up to confirm if they were coming because now I'd be taking the bus there by myself. I left my house at 7 and got to the restaurant at about 7:30 and when I walked in, I saw all my friends there with a giant card that I could most defininatly tell was handmade.
"Oh my gosh, guys! You guys didn't have to do this! I might actually cry!", I said, my voice was a bit shaiky because I actually was gonna cry.
"No no, you deserve this! We all signed the card, but Aizen's the one who made it" my friend Laila said and shot me a wink that only I could see.
"Happy sweet 16th Crystal! You look amazing and with many more years to come, your beauty will grow!", said Aizen with a warm smile on his face.
My heart turned to mush and all I could focus on was his beautiful lips that were mouhing happy birthday along with the rest of my friends that showed up.
My friends sat me down next to Aizen. I was scared and nervous but he just thought it was two friends sitting together, but that wasn't exactly the case.
We had dinner, walked around and did some shopping and by the time we finished it was about 10:00 so we all parted and went our seperate ways. I lived in an opposite direction from everyone else, so I expected to take the subway by myself, but that's when Aizen approached me.
"Crystal, you're taking the subway alone at this time alone? Are you insane? Let me drop you off.", he asked with much concern in his voice.
I was a bit confused because I would always take the subway by myself no matter what the time was, but I was flattered because he was being so sweet.
"Aizen... it's okay, you live the other way and if you drop me off, it'll take you atleast a couple of hours to get home...", I said with a sincere voice. I was flattered that he wanted to take me home but I would feel awful because he'd be on the subway by himself for an extra hour.
He looked at me for a good couple of minutes with his chocolate brown eyes that reminded me of a puppy that wanted it's tummy scratched. I could tell that he really wasn't comfortable with me going by myself on the subway till my home, so I accepted his offer and he looked relieved.
We were on the subway and none of us said a word. I don't know why he wasn't saying anything but I decided to take action by breaking the silence.
"Did you have fun today?" I asked him and he just looked at me. I repeated the question and again he just stared at me. The third time I asked him he cut me off and just kissed me in the middle of the empty subway, not a soul in sight, only the two of us.
While experiencing this intense makeout session that makes my stomach turn in a good way, the way he grabbed my hair I hear my name being called.
"Crystal... Crystal... Wake up, you're making weird noises"
I woke up and found myself leaning my head on Aizens shoulders and that's when I realized, it was just a dream. I knew it was too good to be true, but don't most people say that a dream is a vision of the future, so I was pretty happy.
If what they say is true, I wonder, does he really love me?
