Ladi P.O.V
So I'm getting ready to go out with my friends when my mom called me down. What is it now?
"Sweetie, come down, me and your father need to speak to you." my mom said sweetly. My mom was a cooky women. Out household is kinda strange, especially around her. When she's around, it seems like everything grows around her. Like she has a super green thumb. But that can be my imagination.
"I'll be right down!" I shouted. I put my makeup on and grabbed my bag. I sprinted downstairs and met them in the living room. Mom was staring out the window and Arthur was sitting on the couch, reading the newspaper, as usual. Arthur was my mom's new husband and my new step-father. Mom insisted I call him dad but we were not that close. My dad left me five years ago and I don't know why.
"Ladi, finally, I have big news. You might want to sit down."
"Okay...what is this about?" now I was getting suspicious.
"Now I know it's you senior year and you have friends her who you have grown up with, but its time for a change."
"I don't think I like where this is going..." she pulled out a piece of mail that has already been open. "What's that?"
"It is a letter from your father. Your father opened up a boarding school about four years ago and you're going. You will soon know the reason why, so don't ask." by then my eyeballs were falling out of their sockets.
"Umm...sweetie, there's more." she said cautiously.
"What more can there be. You're sending me off to some boarding school with the owner of the school being my father who left us. And there's more?!"
"The thing is, you're leaving tonight at eleven o'clock. So you can get your packing done, go shopping for warmer clothes, and say good-bye to everyone. By the way, the school is in Alaska." and with that, she went back to staring outside. Weird. Arthur didn't say a word this whole time. Punk.
************At the Mall************
"I can't believe you're going to a boarding school. You're going to leave me and Will to fend for ourselves." Kaya whined.
"Yeah, who is going to hook me up with hot dates and girl advice. Besides Kay." Will said. Will and Kaya have been my best friends since the fifth grade. In fifth grade, the three of us was paired up for a science project and we have been inseparable ever since.
"You two will do fine without me. I'll visit like once a month if I can. We can text and e-mail and call each other. It won't be a problem. Right?..."
"Well, I got my phone taken yesterday, for a month." Will said.
"Why? What did you do now?" I asked.
"My mom caught me trying to sneak Sasha out of my room last night."
"Tsk, tsk. I told you, one of these days, you were gonna get caught. It was only a matter of time." Kaya said and we both laughed at Will. Will without his phone is like a fish without water. His phone is essential to his well being.
"You know what my peps? My mom gave me this credit card with an unlimited balance, so we are going to shop at every known clothing store in Oregon!"
************At the Airport************
My mom took me to the airport, but I was leaving in the school's private jet. I seen only three people waiting for the jet. Two boys and a girl.
"Hey my name is Pixy." the girl came up to me and introduced herself.
"I'm Ladi. Are you waiting to go to the school too." I asked.
"Yeah. Alec and Evan over there are going too."
