"What's your name?"
She glanced up from the drawing of the yellow tulip. The chalkboard screeched and creaked as Miss Cole wrote Introduce Yourselves :).
"I guess you will find out soon," the girl answered back.
"I know it is the first day of high school, and many of you came from different middle schools. What better way to know each other better by introducing ourselves!" exclaimed Miss Cole.
She took out a stuffed purple owl from her wooden desk.
"Whoever has the owl has the chance to speak. I will not tolerate talking and disrespect. I will begin," said Miss Cole.
"My full name is Amy Cole, and I have been teaching Math for around ten years. I started to teach when I was 30 at a small school. I then moved to this school for a better salary. From all the grades I've teach, freshmen are my favorite." introduced Miss Cole.
Lucy murmured something under her breath. Miss Cole shoot her a glare as she passed the owl to me.
"Er, hi. I've moved from Peru at the age of ten with my family. The one with the jean skirt and navy sweater is my sister Lucy. Many people mistake me for female because of my hair, even though I'm a guy," I said before passing the owl to the girl with green hair.
"Very interesting. I'm looking forward in getting to know you."
The girl grins before she began to talk. Her kaleidoscope eyes seem to twinkle as she moved her head.
"Hello, my name is Ayla! My favorite color is blue, and my favorite fruit are grapes. I have no siblings. My favorite flower are yellow tulips," introduced the girl, now known as Ayla.
Ayla then passes the stuffed owl to Lucy, who thanked her.
"I'm Lucy and I'm from Peru," murmured my sister as she shoved the owl to the girl sitting next to her.
The rest of the students introduced themselves. I only caught a few names. I realized that the tall girl's name was Carol, the blond hair boy was Justin, the short guy was Eli. There were many other names, but I didn't pay attention.
9:00am
Time went by and soon the period was over. Ayla handed me the drawing of the tulips as she waved goodbye to me. Lucy sighs as she walks ahead of me to science, our second period.
I looked at the drawing and discovered a phone number.
The second chapter sounds better than the first one. Leave support since this is my first book. Suggestions for the plot of the book are welcomed!!
