we're all a little messed up

"Good morning, love." Harry said softly once he'd opened his eyes, smiling once he saw Louis awake and staring down at him. Quite honestly he would've thought it was creepy if it weren't for the lovely smile set on Louis' lips and if it weren't for those blue eyes Harry loved so much and had for the longest time now.

"Good morning, beautiful." Louis said sweetly and then leaned forward to peck Harry's lips gently. He was surprised Harry's parents happened to let him sleepover last night and thought for sure that Robin would make him go home because from what he'd experienced, Robin was not too fond of Louis and Louis wasn't that fond of Robin actually. But that was Harry's dad and there was nothing Louis could do to necessarily avoid him.

"I smell food." Harry said softly and then sat up, Louis' arms still around him as he did so, not wanting to let go yet. As soon as they actually woke up, an argument would be sure to happen considering that's basically how their entire relationship went. Harry carefully rubbed the sleep out of his eyes and let out a soft yawn as he started waking up more and then looked down at Louis with a small smile set on his lips.

"I believe that your mother is making breakfast." Louis informed him as he pulled his arms away from Harry and then sat up. "You don't look so sick today." Louis commented and then pressed the back of his hand against Harry's forehead to feel it once more. Harry wasn't as warm as he was yesterday luckily.

"I don't feel sick." Harry told him and then bit his lip gently as he continued to stare down at him. "Dad isn't gonna be too thrilled about you staying over, so I'm guessing breakfast will be a little awkward."

"Anytime I'm around your parents it's awkward, Harry. You should be used to it by now. I know I am." Louis said and then stood up from the bed slowly. "Might as well go ahead and face them. Plus I'm starving."

"Fine." Harry mumbled and then ran his hands through his messy curls atop his head and then stood up from his bed.

They headed downstairs together, hand-in-hand up until they reached the bottom step and then Harry let go of Louis' hand as they walked into the dining room to get to the kitchen.

"Morning, love. Louis." Anne greeted them both softly whenever the two teenagers walked into the kitchen together. "Have either of you heard from Gemma?"

"No." Harry answered and then glanced over at Louis who only shook his head. "I'm guessing she didn't come home last night? She was probably just out with friends, Mum." Harry said and then gave her a small smile before he was helping to finish breakfast and then set the table with help from Louis.

Once they'd all sat down, Louis sitting very close to Harry due to the awkward feel at the table and kept his eyes on his plate instead of looking up at either one of Harry's parents.

"You know Louis isn't allowed over when we aren't home, Harry, and he's especially not supposed to be in your bed." Robin reminded as he looked between the two teenage boys. "The two of you think I'm being ridiculous, I know. But there are rules that are being broken and I'm tired of letting these things slide. You have to follow the rules, Harry."

"I know. I'm sorry." Harry apologized as he looked up at Robin with sorry eyes, only hoping he'd just let this slip and not make too big of a deal out of it.
