Beginning

Melody's p.o.v

I can't wait to leave. I am so excited to see Emerson and Aunt Karen and Uncle Chase. But I'm nervous to meet Emerson's friends. I just don't know if they'll like me.

"Are you almost done packing honey?" My mom says as she walks in my room and sits on my bed.

"Yeah almost. I swear I'm forgetting something"

She looks around my room and sees my swimsuits.

"These?" As she picks them up.

"Oh my gosh mom thanks. You just saved my summer!"

"It's just beginning! I'm going downstairs. Hurry up! We don't want you to miss your plane!" She says and then walks out my room.

Ok. Now I'm sure I got everything. I can't believe this is happening! I've looked forward to this all year! I haven't seen Emerson since she moved last Spring. We have a lot of catching up to do.

I zip up my suitcase and grab my other bags. I take one last look at my room and then walk out.

Finally when I reach the end of the stairs, I see my parents sitting on the couch with my ticket and a credit card! I walk over to them with my bags and sit down.

"Ok miss, this is a credit card. I put more than enough money on it for the summer and I want you to spend it wisely." My Dad says sternly.

"Yes sir. I promise I will"

"Awe my baby is leaving the nest" my mom says almost crying.

"Only for the summer and don't cry. I'll be back before you know it!" I say giving her a hug.

I then hug my dad and tell him goodbye. The reality is finally setting in that I will soon be in New Jersey with my best friend!

My mom helps me with the bags and takes them to the car. I sit in the passenger seat and we leave the house. Basically the entire ride, she gave me a lecture on how I need to be nice and respectful to Aunt Karen, Uncle Chase, and Emerson and how I need to branch out and make some friends.

We finally get to the airport and I get out of the car to get my bags. Once I have my bags, my mom engulfs me in another hug and cries. I hug her back and tell her I'll be fine.

I then enter the airport and do all the things to get to my plane. I'm not late at all. Finally I get to my plane and find my seat. I got a 2 hour ride ahead of me so I put on my headphones and listen to my Halsey and G-eazy playlist.

Before I know it, I'm in New Jersey and I text Emerson that I'm here.

I get off my plane and do everything that you would do after you get off the plane and then I go to find Emerson and Aunt Karen because she's with her.

I finally see them!

"It's my girl!!!! I missed you so much!" Emerson says running to me and engulfing me in a hug. I laugh and tell how how much I missed her.

Aunt Karen gets my bags and takes them to the car and puts them in the trunk. Emerson is steady talking to me about how I'm going to love it here. She did that the entire car ride and Aunt Karen also asked me how me and my parents have been and how the rest of the family has been. Emerson and her family had to move here because her dad got a promotion on his job.

We reach her house and I love it! She shows me to my room and it's so cute! It's white themed and there are pictures of me and Emerson on the walls. I love it here.

"Ok I know you need to get settled in but my friends are having a little get together and they all want to meet you" she says

"Ok. Tell them I'll go. I can unpack when I get back. It's not problem. I just need to get in a different outfit."

"Ok girl come downstairs when you're ready." She says walking out.

I pick out my outfit which consists of denim shorts and a light pink crop tops with white converse.

I walk downstairs and Emerson walks to me excitedly and grabs my hands and says...

"Ok so there are 2 boys I want you to meet. I think you'll like them."

"What's their names?"

"Ethan and Grayson Dolan. They're twins."

"Oh ok cool" I never met twins before.

Em lets go of my hands and we walk out the door to her car. I'm so nervous. God I hope her friends like me.
