I'm so bored. I had to help Ethan clean up the house after our friends came over. Luckily, there wasn't a big mess. I'm tired but I want to talk to someone. I scroll through my contacts and I remembered that I got Melody's number now.

Why not text her? She is funny,cute, nice, caring, hot.... calm down Grayson. You just met her.

Grayson: hi it's Grayson
Mel: oh hey!
Grayson: so what you doing
Mel: unpacking now
Grayson: cool. You staying the whole summer?
Mel: yes. I'm so excited!!!
Grayson: New Jersey is great. I promise you'll love it here
Mel: thank you 😊

We texted a lot more. She talked about her friends back home, fun memories her and Em have together and just things she loves.

I could honestly talk to her forever. She is just so amazing. I hope she knows that. I told her more things about me and it's crazy because I don't really open up to most people when I first meet them.

Grayson has such a kind heart. I hope he knows how great he is. He is sweet, compassionate, caring, cute, hilarious, fucking hot! Oh my god... slow your roll Mel. You just met him today.

Ugh why do I feel this way? I just met him and I already like him. I mean what's there not to like. He has almost all the things I look for in a guy. I just need to spend more time with him. I wonder what he's thinking about right now.

I need a snack. I wish aunt Karen or uncle Chase could make more food😂. They go to bed too early; it's only 11:00. I walk downstairs to see that Emerson is on FaceTime with Ethan. I think they would make such a cute couple! I walk to the cabinet where all the chips are. I go for the hot cheetos because they are perfection!

As I'm eating, I hear my name.

"So what do you think about my cousin, Melody?"

"She's cool. I didn't talk to her much, but whatever she said to Gray got him in a daze. He won't stop thinking about her."

"Awe"

I stop listening. Wow, I just got here and I already like a guy. And I guess he likes me back. This is going to be one long summer(in the best way).

Maybe I should spend some time with Grayson alone. I can't help but want to see him. I'm going to text him.

Mel: hey I was wondering if I could see you
Grayson: I'm not doing anything right now
Mel: what should we do.
Grayson: want to walk around the neighborhood?
Mel: meet me at Em's house.
Grayson: k

Grayson lives right down the street from Emerson. Ok now it makes since why the twins were the first friends she made here.

Grayson will be here any second. I'm so fresh faced right now. And my clothes are baggy but it's not like I'm trying to impress him. I decide to walk out the front door and wait for him. Emerson is so distracted from talking to Ethan that she doesn't even notice.

"Hey"

"Hey gray." I say before hugging him. It's crazy how I just met him but I feel like I've known him for so long.

As we're walking, we just start talking.

"So anyone special back at home?" He says

"Nope"

"Oh"

"Yeah. So um what about you?"

"What about me?" He says

"Anyone special?" I say

"No not really. I'm just chilling here" he says with a grin. I couldn't help but laugh.

"I love your laugh"

"Thanks." I say smiling.

"This neighborhood is so gorgeous. Em is so lucky!" I say looking at all the houses. Right after I say that I trip on a kids scooter. Like how? Right before I'm about to hit the ground, Grayson catches me.

"Might wanna watch where you're walking Eastwood" he says smiling and looking into my eyes. I never noticed how hazel his brown eyes actually look.

We're just looking into each others eyes when he slowly starts leaning in. I do the same. Here it goes. My first kiss.

Our lips almost connected when we heard the sound of tires against the road. We turn around and see a family in the car with their kids. Oh my god. I'm embarrassed. Grayson looked back at me and started laughing. We moved out of the cars way and went back to Em's house. I still can't believe that I almost had my first kiss.

Me and Grayson said our goodbyes at the door and I went inside. Time to tell Emerson everything that just happened.

*10 minutes later*

"Oh my gosh yay!!! You kissed him?"

"No. As soon as we were about to, we heard a car behind us. It was a mom, dad, and their 4 kids." Emerson just started laughing.

" Haha you must have been so embarrassed? Well at least you know he likes you"

"Well he never said he did. It was just the moment. Don't worry about it Em. I doubt he feels the same way."

"Yah I guess. Well I'm getting tired. Oh and we'll be hanging out with the group everyday for the next week. Mel they like you!"

"Ok! I'm excited to see them! Goodnight" I walk out of her room and back to mine. Dang I wish he kissed me. I wish he liked me. Stop it Mel. Focus on friends. Not relationships.
