Chapter 1

<<<Amanda's POV>>>

I have to wake up early in the morning tomorrow to start my day on the ranch. I hope I have time to ride my horse Patches tomorrow.Oh I almost forgot to introduce myself! My name is Amanda Kate Anderson, but people just call me by my first name Amanda.

I just set my alarm clock to 4:00 in the morning.Yeah,I know what you are thinking that is so early, but it isn't for me because I always get up at that time.I here a thump come from downstairs.

"What was that", I called.

Once I said that I saw my two twin brothers that are six years old.I'm only twelve but I'm not the oldest kid.I have six siblings.Two of them are older than me.

"What are you doing down there", I said.

"I tripped on the stair", said my brother.

My brothers names are Kyle and Luke.They always get into trouble.When something happens to the house they always get blamed for it even if they didn't do it.

"Why aren't you guys in bed yet,"I asked.

"We're not tired yet,"said Luke.

"But everyone wakes up at 4:00 in the morning,"I replied.

They just looked at me with confused faces.I don't think they understand what I'm saying.Sometimes I still wish my sister was still living with us.

My sister Lilly moved last year because she was 19 years old and she wanted a place of her own.Now she lives in a mansion which is only a fifteen minute walk from here.

I walked into my room and saw my fourteen year old sister looking out the window worriedly.I asked her what is wrong but she wouldn't answer me.

"Angel, please answer me!,"I asked worriedly.

"Patches has been acting funny around me lately,"she said sadly.

"She's been acting like that to me too,"I said.

She turned around facing me in a sad way."Do you think she is sick,"Angel asked looking at me sadly.

"I hope not.Anyway mom and dad won't be home until midnight tonight.Hopefully they can call the vet for Patches tomorrow,"I said trying to make her cheer up.

"Well I'm going to bed. Goodnight Amanda,"said Angel.

"Goodnight,"I said back to her.

I sure hope Angel is okay.She is really close to Patches.We got her when the twins were born so she isn't that old.My brother Brian  is sleeping right now.I don't think I told you about my brother Brian.Brian is 10 years old.We are very close but not as close same and Angel are.Angel and I are like best friends.Even though we are two years a part we are still very close.If I had to choose a favorite sibling I would pick Angel.

I'm now laying in my bed across from Angel who is on her phone texting her friend about Patches.I sure hope she is okay.I love her so much but not as much as Angel.She always says Patches is her horse.Hopefully nothing is wrong with Patches.We all love her so much.

"Angel,"I said timidly.

"Yeah sis,what's up"she asked.

"Do you know what time it is,"I asked.

"10:00,why do you want to know,"she asked me confused.

"I just wasn't sure,"I told her.

I was going to ask her about Patches but I didn't want to make her upset.So I decided to avoid the question by asking a stupid question.I actually was going to ask that question though.I don't like to ask my sister question that I wouldn't like to ask her if that makes any sense.

I hope my parents get home when I'm still up to tell them about Patches.When I was about to close my eyes I heard my phone ding to let me know I got a text.I saw it was my friend Amelia.

Amelia have been best friends since kindergarten.She has always been beside my side.She is my best friend but only Angel is my bestie.
