I sat up on the stiffened hospital bed and smiled.
~time warp to the beginning~
Katlynn's PoV
"Katy, katy, KATY" yelled Jasmine. "Oh uh yea" I replied. "Your not still thinking about the dance are you" said Jasmine with a suspicious look on her face. "No, I-I just need a new dress that's all" I told Jasmine as I threw out my sticky lunch tray. We both walked out of the lunch room as the bell rang for us to move to our next class."you know I still don't understand why my life is so messed up....I just don't get it" I complained to Jasmine with a sad look on my face. "Everything will get better you know, at least you have me" said Jasmine with a huge grin. I smiled as we started to approach our English class. I sat all the way in the back with Jasmine and Trey by best friends since..forever. Of course a perk of coming a little early to class is being able to sit behind Cole,I have a major crush on him and it's eating me up inside. As class was about to start the ground started to rumble, more and more with each second. " EVERYONE UNDER YOUR DESKS NOW!" said Mrs Goldbloom. Everything went into slow motion....I stood there a still as can be. Everyone mouthed words but I couldn't hear a thing, until someone tackled me onto the ground. I gained strength and realization of what was happening and that the people where screaming for me to GET DOWN. " you could have gotten hurt if I didn't help you" said Cole. "Oh....um thanks" I said crawling under my desk. "Next time, save me the trouble" he said with a serious face before going back under his desk. For a good period of time I started to regret my feelings for him. The earthquake stayed active for and hour and a half. Everyone crawled out from under their desks when the knew it was safe. ATTENTION. PLEASE COLLECT YOUR BELONGINGS, YOU ARE DISMISSED. I stormed out of the class,and bolted for my locker. "What the hell was that" said Jasmine and her and Trey gather at my locker. "I don't know and I don't care. Let's just get our stuff and leave....I have a feeling that this will be our last day at school" I said as I slammed my locker shut. "Can you guys come with me to my locker" said Trey a little scared. "Sure why not" I said as we began to walk. As I was walking through the hall I saw Cole give me a petty glance, so I gave him a stare and walked away. I went to my house, which was an orphan center due to the fact that my parents didn't want me. I quickly went to the book that I had ever since I was given away, I was right. The book said there would be a lot of strange things happening wherever I went....and thing where indeed starting to happen. I called both Jasmine and Trey and told them to pack lightly because, I didn't know what would come ahead. The next wave was going to begin. And it wasn't going to be pretty.
