"Sir? We have landed in California."

I looked up to see an air hostess nudge my shoulder lightly. I returned her warm smile and stood up to get my bags. I got off the plane and collected my suitcases from the airport. I had gone on the Neon Lights Tour with one suitcase and I returned with two- not gonna lie, retail therapy is something I believe in. I wasn't the kind of guy who would groan when someone was taking them shopping. If there was any place where you could buy clothes, shoes, travel stuff and souvenirs I'd probably already been there. Well, that's an exaggeration but you get the point.

I took a taxi home and just looked out the window the entire time. This was the place I had all of my memories and I really was glad to be back. Certainly being a magician was one of my dreams, and the fact that I roam around U.S. doing tours just makes it all the more amazing. Someday, I do dream to perform magic around the world but for now there was nothing better I could ask for. The only thing about my career was that you didn't get much time to spend around your family and friends. Right now, I didn't have any travelling to do till November which in a way I was grateful for. However, I would go around doing shows in California which I was pretty excited about.

Before I knew it, the taxi pulled into my street. I paid the driver, got my bags and headed towards my house. Before I was even on my porch, the door opened and Devan, my younger brother, ran towards me.

"Jerkface! So glad to have you back!!!" He wrapped his arms around me and squeezed me into a tight hug.

"What a warm welcome, hmm?" I replied and hugged him back.

"Don't tell me you don't like your nickname. It suits you for who you are," Devan said, smirking.

       "It does not!"

"Don't deny it, honey bun!" Devan sang, mocking my Aunt Rose. Seriously, I didn't really like her but she still seemed to have some odd sort of fondness towards me which was just plain creepy and annoying, to say the least.

"Shut up, asshole," I muttered and he grinned. I walked in to the cozy place I had grown to call home. The light scent of Vanilla buttercream candles welcomed me and I smiled, knowing it was Mom's favourite scent.

"Mom! Dad! I'm home!" I yelled, as my voice echoed. I wouldn't lie and tell you that I lived in a mansion, however, you could say my house was pretty big for four people living in it.

"Honey! Glad to see you! Its been so long....we've all missed you," My mom hugged me and planted a kiss on my cheek.

"I missed you guys too, though I can tell this little guy missed me too much," I smirked, nudging him.

"Keep telling yourself that," Devan muttered. I grinned since I knew how much he loved me, though he would never admit it. Devan and I weren't the sort of brothers who would ignore each other and hate each other. Sure, we had some arguments here and there but I like to think that our relationship is a lot stronger than many other sibling relationships I know of.

"Where's dad?" I asked, suddenly curious.

"OH umm, he just popped down to the grocery store to get something. He should be back soon," Mom replied. I could tell she was lying, she wasn't too good at the faking thing.

"Quit lying, mom. Where'd he go?"

"I told you! He went out to get some groceries, we've been umm running low on potatoes, and pasta..." Mom was cut off by the creak of our front door. I turned around and saw my dad standing with a smirk on his face. What was going on?
