Today is the first day back to school. I'm in the fourth grade, and I can't wait to see all of my friends. I have new clothes that my mom bought me. I like all of them, and I'm sure my friends will too. So I walk through the doors and head to the cafeteria. Immediately I see all of my friends sitting in a group. They see me and get ecstatic. My close friend Troy came up to me, and gave me a high five and a pat on the back. We walk back to the table where all of my friends are.
I sat down and we all started to chat. Then Troy points out that my crush, Emily, was walking by. Then he starts teasing me about having a crush on her. I start laughing and tell him that I don't have a crush on her. He looks at me with a grin and says, "If you don't have a crush on her then prove it. Go talk to her." I reply by saying, "Okay I'm not scared to talk to her," then I walk over to Emily. As I get closer I feel those butterflies in my stomach start to fly around. Once I get to her she turns around, and she smiles really big and says, "Hey, isn't your name Jacob?" I look at her and, with a slight stutter, I say, "Y-Yes. H-How did you know?" She laughs and says, "You spent the night with my brother a few nights over the summer. Do you not remember seeing me?"
The truth is I did remember seeing her I also remember trying to keep her from seeing me. "Oh yeah now I remember," I replied to her question she asked a second ago. She then smiled and walked away with her group of friends. I walk back over to the table where my friends are sitting. I turn towards Troy and say, "Ha I told you I didn't have a problem talking to her." He laughed and replied with a simple whatever. Then the bell rang and we all went to class, and we was all looking off of our school schedules. Me and Troy ended up having all 4 classes together. Me and Kaleb only had 2 of them together, and Jason, well, I only had 1 class with him.
Four months after school had started all of my friends, except for Troy, had left me. None of them have been hanging out with me since one month after school started. I don't know why they haven't been hanging out with me. They kind of just stoped coming around me. All of them except for Troy. For some reason Troy kept coming up to my house and hanging out with me even though no one else would.
Then the last month of school Troy stopped hanging out with me as well. I had no one I was just a kid that had no friends. I didn't care I still had my grandpa and grandma to take care of me. For some reason when I went to school the last week of school Emily came up to me. She had seen how alone I was. She sat down next to me and hugged me. I was so happy that I smiled like an idiot, and I hugged her back. She asked if it was okay if she came up to my house to hang out. Of course I said yes and she came up. Once school had ended me and Emily was hanging out almost every single day.
It was so fun to hang out with Emily. I think the best thing was that she gave me happiness. The happiness that I never really had when it was just me and my buddies. A couple of years pass by now I'm about to turn 12. Even though it's a day before my birthday I still had to go to school. Once I got there Emily walked by and gave me a note that said, "Hey I need to come up today I really want to talk to you. Love Emily." I was okay with the idea until she came up. Once she came up she was crying and hugging me.
I asked what was wrong. She looked at me and said, "I'm moving to Idaho and I'm not coming back." My heart dropped and I was speechless. I just hugged her and then she looked up at me and gave me a huge kiss. This was the first kiss I had ever received or given. So I didn't really know how to respond. She then said that she loved me and gave me another kiss. Once she did that she got up to leave. Before she left she said, "Don't forget about me." I looked at her smiled and said, "I won't. Oh and by the way I love you as well." She smiled and opened the door and said, "goodbye." I said it back then she left out of my life forever....
