Tumbling into her bed and tangling herself into her silky sheets, Mari sighed, relishing in puffy, cloud-like comfort. She had just emerged freshly from the shower, letting her damp hair dry naturally. Next, the girl set her alarm to awake early for the next morning, as school was a very prevalent, and necessary, event. The tense muscles uncoiled in her lower back, closing to a complete still finally. After making some minor adjustments, Marinette successfully found an optimal sleeping position.
A distant owl hooted, lulling her senses further, drifting off to dream world. All until her phone rang obnoxiously on her nearby nightstand. Suspiciously opening one untrusting eye, Mari reached for the cell, cursing at how bright the black light was.
"Speak," she said, annoyed with the caller on the other line.
"Chill, M. It's Alya. Did I wake you?"
"Only a lot. What's happening?"
"It can wait. Go back to sleep. I'll tell you in the morning when you're bright eyed and bushy tailed."
"Oh, heck no. You woke me and now, I'm up and at your trusty disposal."
Mari snuggled further into the bedsheets and comforter. Sighing, she released her stress out from her ever churning stomach into the blanket.
Alya giggled, "I thought you'd say that. You never change, you know that?"
"You have about five more minutes until I'm half asleep again. Do with it what you will, Als."
"Okay, okay. So, you know how Nino finally asked me out?"
"Mm hmm."
"You're not going to believe it! He was just the best gentleman the whole night. He treated me so well, it was refreshing. After the date, he even respected me and kissed my cheek as gently as possible. Just enough to feel it, but just as dreamy as what I imagine a full kiss would be like with him."
"That's swell, Als. Adrien pantsed himself just for me. In front of the school. Willingly."
"What?! How do your stories always top mine?! And why did he feel the need to strip in front of you? And in such a public place, too."
Mari paused, recalling how Adrien said that he kept everything between them. It was kind of adorable to her that he cared about her that much. Not that she'd ever like to admit it.
"S-Something about broadcasting all of his faint freckles to me. Alya, the boy's a creepy pervert, what more do you want from me?"
"Details! Which you always lack!"
"Sure, sure."
"How much did you see of him? Could you tell if he does work outs regularly?"
"He eats like a pig yet has a six pack. Biologically and physically speaking, there has to be some form of exercise to counteract all of that junk food."
"Did you see his-"
"If you're about to say the word I think you're about to say, don't. Because I didn't see it."
"Don't act so casually! The most I've gotten from a guy is a cheek kiss. This is news, girl! And you're skimping on me."
"Well, would you look at that. Five minutes just flew by. Night, Alya. Also, I'm happy for you and how your date with Glasses Geezer went. Bye now," Marinette finished, hanging up the call, speaking quietly, and in a monotone frame of mind.
Cuddling the mass amount of plush blankets, Mari firmly shut her eyes closed, trying to fall asleep once more.
"I thought she'd never leave us alone."
