A gentle breeze kissed Marinette's sticky cheek. She grew increasingly cognizant, finally able to pry open her blue eyes. The sight bestowed upon her caused the girl to smile. A pile of all their clothing from last night sat in her peripheral vision, memories of making love for the first time bubbling up to the surface of her brain. Mari glanced up, relishing the feeling of being cuddled by Adrien's arms.
She couldn't bring herself to move her eyes away from his adorable, sleepy face or crazy bed hair. A cozy, fluffy blanket concealed their entangled bodies. The soft sun was rising, bringing yellow and blue pastel candy clouds with it.
"Morning, beautiful."
She smiled, feeling him trace circles on the back of her hips. Adrien placed a sweet, lingering kiss on her forehead. Mari didn't know how she got so dang lucky, especially with the awful way she treated him all of his life. Her heart began to ache.
"I'm sorry, I uh, should get home. My parents are probably worried sick," she sat up, tugging the blanket with her until she found her clothes. "Yeah, sorry I kind of was too tired to move last night, so I thought we wouldn't mind waking up with the sun," he said groggily. Dang his sleepy voice was something to marvel at.
"I just- my parents are going to freak. And don't even get me started on Alya. I'll need to inject a tranquilizer beforehand," she nervously giggled. "You don't regret what we did, do you?"
"No! I don't. I just need to get home."
"If you say so, Mari."
She could sense that something was off with him. Maybe insecurity, despite him being the eagerest beaver in shedding his clothing last night. Collecting everything, they strolled over to his bike. "What time is it?"
"Eight twenty."
"Crap! We need to head straight to school!"
"What?" Adrien asked, confused.
"First period started ten minutes ago! I can't miss the whole class again!"
"But we have sex hair! I need a shower, Mari, or I'm going to die all day!"
"Shut up! Just go!" She tried to fight the blooming blush on her cheeks at the mention of last night's romantic antics. Obeying, he ignited the motorcycle, speeding down the road to school. In her frenzy, Mari hoped that he wouldn't crash just a little extra, since her helmet was still strapped to the back of the zippy bike.
Once securely parked, Mari sprinted into the school, not having her usual backpack or any supplies. She also left Adrien in the dust, zooming until she reached her homeroom desk. He was quick to follow, only slightly behind her time wise. "Marinette and Adrien, detention today after school for disruption and tardiness," their teacher announced with her back to the classroom, as she was writing notes on the dirty chalkboard. The surrounding students snickered, figuring that something was up with the way they entered messily and simultaneously.
Mari sighed, leaning down to set her forehead on the cold wood of her desk in agony. When she had awoken this morning, she was thrilled. Now, the girl craved a smidgen of space to hash everything out in solitude. She knew he would want the exact opposite. Shutting him out would be dumb, he'd be hurt and regret everything. If it was one thing, Marinette loved every second of their first date, and then some.
It had been the first time a boy had genuinely cared about her, and took her out on a real date, not to some sleazy bar before realizing Mari's firm stance on staying away from alcohol. She would be completely psycho to throw Adrien all away for small, piddly worries such as these. Maybe not worries per-say, just inklings of some sort. The girl just needed boat loads of affirmation from Adrien that they had made smart choices. She swallowed any shallow pings in her head, chalking all of her befuddling confusion all up to her evident inexperience in the romance department.
"I was wanting to take you out again."
Adrien was draped next to Marinette's locker, full intent and focus on her, and her alone. "Alya's throwing a party this Friday. Are you game?" He nodded excitedly, dawning boyish grin that broke his charming face. Yeah, she'd be insane to let him go. "So have you told anyone about last night?" Adrien asked. "No. And I don't think I will until I'm good and ready. I mean, we've just barely started dating and right now, that's good enough for me. The hard stuff we can deal with when we get to it."
"How is it that you still look gorgeous even though you slept on the ground all last night?"
She smiled. "Right back atcha, Creep," Marinette said, shooting him a wink as she left to head to her next class. Man, he was something alright.
•••••••
The air smelt with the heavy stench of arousal and substances being consumed by unintelligible minors. Mari layered on the sexy extra tonight, sporting high heels and a rose pink dress comprised of an extraordinary soft velvet. Adrien thought his heart had stopped palpitating. That was at the eve of the night, some few odd hours ago. Now, Adrien was splayed out on a stranger's couch, drunk as all get out, head laying in Marinette's lap. She let his hair, both surrounded by Nino and Alya.
He had no reason to get so intoxicated, other than issues he had yet to share with Mari. Nonetheless, she was always keeping an eye on Adrien, making sure his safety and health were all in check.
"How was you guy's first date, anyway?" Alya was probing for juicy details. Earlier, during lunch, Mari said she would explain everything in due time. Adrien, however was not himself currently. That was her downfall. "Fantabulous! Did you know that Mari sucks at laser tag? Ooh, ooh, ooh! Or how about the tattoo on her tummy?!"
By this point, he had ecstatically sat up, out of reach by Mari. "You have a tattoo?" Alya cocked an eyebrow. Nino and Alya had maybe a drink or two, and were very much sober, so there was no blaming liquor on their behalf. "Yeah-huh! It's of a gray rainy rain cloud with loads of rainy rain drops falling from it!"
"Have you kissed her yet, Adrien?" Nino questioned, taking advantage of his lowered guard. The blonde simply wiggles his eyebrows haphazardly. "Boy did I ever! We even had all of the sex!"
"Okay! I think you're getting just a little too big for your britches so, we are going to head out! I'll see you both soon, alright? Goodbye!" Mari was shoving the blonde male out of the door, desperate to get him home. Since Alya and Mari were neighbors, she was able to stuff Adrien into her car. "I thought we agreed that we weren't going to mention anything yet."
"Welp. Alcohol is like a truth serum to me, yep yep." He looked over at her, like a small, fascinated child would. Those innocent, green eyes were enough to melt all of her anger away. "We'll deal with our friends later. Right now, you need sleep and one serious shower."
"Can we get jello? Ooh! Grape jello with whipped cream and two- no three cherries!" Mari radiated a soft smile at his utter goofiness. She pat his knee and took off, driving for the boy's house.
"Where do you live again?"
Adrien gave her a wink, wiggling his eyebrows too before cuddling into himself and drifting to sleep. The last time she was at his house, she was nursing a massive hangover, not observing her surroundings. Ruffling his blonde, soft hair, she drove around the block before pulling back into her own driveway.
