Snow & Garroth

Snow's POV

It was the end of summer. Me and Garroth were spending as much time together as possible before I had to go back to work. Garroth didn't have a job but he was going to help his dad out with the family business for a while, so I would only get to see him by video call. I would have loved to gone with him but the Pet Hospital needed me back since autumn was the start of the largest period of animal sicknesses. I had lots to catch up on work was going to consume me, so I was sort of glad Garroth wouldn't be here, then he wouldn't feel like I was rejecting him and not wanting to hang out. I know he would understand but him being away would put my mind at rest. Plus, I needed to make up for all the time I had spent being a werewolf. It was time to get my head back into reality and make money.

My aim was to build an animal shelter and run it in my spare time. I wanted to do this, not only for me but for Garroth too. He had been looking for a job and animals were both our passions, we could run if he together but he could run it more often when I had to work overtime or day shifts at the Pet Hospital.

But for now it was simply to get in as much time together as possible. We sat in the park, enjoying the hot sun and the trickling of the stream as it flowed passed. We were silent, it was enough just siting down, side by side, hand in hand, and just being there, together. A camera lay in my lap, and sometimes I would lift it up and snap a picture of the flowers, or the trees or the grass or the ducklings as the waddled passed, trailing after their mother. It was just nice. Relaxing and calm, and Garroth was here with me.

We were silent for ages, staring off into the distance. Then Garroth spoke, quietly, as if he were scared the if he spoke too loudly, the ground around us would shatter like glass. "Snow...I have been meaning to ask you something for a while now..."
