{Avalanche's P.O.V}
After about 3 years, I was a capable young mare. I was quite unique, and had a beautiful, velvety coat. My eyes were light blue, like my mother's, and my mane and tail was dark brown at the roots, and grew lighter to white at the ends.
I was swifter than any other young stallion, let alone young mares. I was quite agile too, with clever thinking and good wits. I was much like my father, fierce and a horse who doesn't give up so easily, but like my mother; charming, dashing, and devious.
I loved to race, but always seemed to enjoy racing with stallions rather than mares, probably since A. Stallions were faster, and B. Stallions were always up to the challenge.
I liked to race with Eagle, especially due to his fast flying. I was soon to be a leader, and as my mom always said, "You're a natural born leader".
I wasn't just known for my speed, but admired for my bravery and loyalty to the herd. I'd fought cougars multiple times, and even shooed off a pack of wolves.
I admit it, I was very proud; and pride is what led me and my herd to danger. I knew every horse by looks and scent. Anyways, here's were my adventure REALLY starts.

{Avalanche's P.O.V}
I stood on the bluff overlooking the grazing horses, where my father still stands to gaze upon his herd.
I looked at the grass that seemed to stretch on forever beyond the horizon. The gentle breeze whispered through the grass blades, ruffling my thick, soft mane.
My tail flew out behind me, my ears pricked up straight against the soft wind. I looked up as Eagle screeched out, soaring above my head.
"Hah! Finally. Ready to race, Eagle?", I'd call up to him, rearing with determination.
I took off down the bluff, away from the herd. I watched Eagle's shadow on the blurry grass as I galloped, it was pretty far ahead of me. But instead of discouraging me, it built up my confidence by a million. My hooves moved even faster, and soon I was right under Eagle.
I looked up at him, smirked a horse grin, and galloped off, leaving a cloud of dust flying up towards him. I looked up behind me, and saw that Eagle seemed to be dropping back.
I shook my head and neighed happily, continuing to gallop at full speed over the tall, bending grass. I finally slowed down to a slow gallop, then into a smooth canter.
I stopped, and looked around. The plain seemed to go on for miles, and the forests looked like they were never-ending. My life was so peaceful....
Or so I thought. (Dun dun DUNNNN xD)
