I was waiting for class to start when the prettiest girl in the class came up to me. Her name was Grace Williams, and she had long dirty blond hair. She was really skinny. It almost worried me how skinny she was. It made me think she was anorexic, and it’s not like you can ask someone, “Are you anorexic?” or I would were that not the case because it was worrying on how skinny she was.
“Hi Charlie,” she smiled.
“Hello Grace. Did you read Act Four?” I asked her.
“No! Did you?”
“No, I was wondering if you did. You know we have a quiz on it today, right?” I asked her.
“Shit. We’re screwed. Anyway, that’s not why I came over here. I wanted to know if you would like to go out with me. Everyone thinks you’re the cutest boy in the school, but no one else is brave enough to ask you, so I figured I would. So yeah, go out with me?” she asked, smiling.
“Uh, okay,” I said, surprised.
I didn’t know what to think. I mean, people actually found me attractive. I thought I wasn’t very attractive, but here this girl was saying “Oh yeah, everyone thinks you’re so cute.” I didn’t really know her, and I wasn’t really the kind of person to just go out with someone I barely knew, but what could it hurt? If other people liked me, they should’ve told me when they had the chance. It’s their loss for not saying anything.
