Makoto POV
When I saw that orangey brown hair from so long ago I almost fainted.
Memories starting rushing back to me so fast my head started to hurt.
Chiaki.
Almost dropping the tray I was holding I placed it gently on the counter. Just looking into his eyes I rememberd the fun times we had. When he first transfered. Our first meeting. All the times we played baseball together with Kosuke. The first time I time leaped. When Chiaki confessed to me. When Kosuke almost died. When Chiaki saved me.
I sent my son Chiaki to play with Yuri and Lyla. When he was born, looking into my sons eyes I saw the same face as Chiaki which was funny as he was mine and my husband Yuusuke's child. I guess the truth was that I wanted to hold onto some sort of bond with Chiaki so I named my son after him. My husband never knew about why I picked that name. He didn't know about my time leaping, nor did he know about me meeting with Chiaki. I never got to tell him.
I started to cry.
I was in doubt.
I couldn't believe that it was Chiaki. He was so much older than I remember him.
Holding my face in my hands, I approached him.
"Is it really you?", I was slowly walking towards him.
"Oh my gosh", I gasped.
We started to catch up on the 5 years we've missed each other.
I was looking right into his eyes when I realised something.
"Chiaki, you don't look as young as I guessed you'd have been. Did something go wrong when you time leaped again?", I was curious.
He looked more to be around my age.
"When I time leaped, I didn't end up going back to my time. Something went wrong in the process and I ended up in a time completely foreign from mine. That's when I met Lyla here.", I motioned towards Lyla.
"I'm 25 now", he gave a warm but sad smile.
I gave a sad smile.
"I'm pretty much 10 years older than you. Well it was expected anyway."
"Too late for a second chance?", he asked.
"I'm afraid so...", It clicked.
"I have to show you something, come with me", I grabbed Chiaki's hand and led him outside to the garden.
We went down round the back of the large oak tree and through the rusty old gate down a long windy path.
"Woah, Makoto, where are you taking me?", he seemed confused.
I stopped abruptly.
He stumbled and held onto my shoulders for support.
We were standing infront of an old tin shed. The door practically being held up by the door handle, completely rusted at the hinges. It had the shape of a moon carved on the front door and has a bright blue roof. It was roughly half a metre taller than Chiaki.
I grabbed his hand and opened the door.
"I've been waiting for you to come to me, because I thought you might want this.", he was looking at me like i was freaking him out.
"Wh-wh-what is it? It better not be something freaky", he was such a wuss.
"No", I chuckled. "You'll like this. At least I hope you will.", I said, a little bit sad.
I walked towards a small wooden oak table, with a small secret drawer.
"C'mon Makoto, at least turn on the light!", he whined.
"Shush!", I opened the compartment to reveal a small glowing object in the shape of a nut.
Chiaki must have seen it because he gasped.
"Somewhere between my time and your time, people realised that this was to dangerous a thing to have so they destroyed all of them...at least, that's what they think.", I turned to face him.
"This is your last chance. I want you to go back to that summer where you transfered and start all over again. Don't leave, like you did. Stay.", I placed it in his hand and closed it, placing mine over his.
"Mako-", I hushed him.
"Just do it. Do it for me."
"Makoto!", he pulled me into an embrace. "What about your son!? Your husband!? What about them. If I really go back into the past and change what I did, you'll never meet them. They will cease to exist!", he grasped my shoulders.
Looking me directly in the eye, he said to me;
"Do you really want to do this? Because if you want to then I will", he was dead serious.
I was silent for a moment.
"Of course I want you to do this. Otherwise I wouldn't have done this", I hugged him.
"I'll be waiting for you, in the past.", and with that I turned to walk away but he grabbed my wrist and spun me back to him.
He did something I never thought he would.
He kissed me.
"In the past", he said smiling as we broke apart.
And with that he ran out of the little shed off towards our past.
"Good luck Chiaki", I whispered after him.
Chiaki POV
As I ran, a billion thoughts were going through my head.
This was my chance! This was it! I was going to be with Makoto again! And when I meet her again, I'm not gonna walk away.
As I neared the house, I called for Lyla.
"Lyla! Ly! Ly!", I had a huge grin spread accross my face. I was dying to tell her of the news.
She ran outside panicked.
"What! What's wrong?", she ran towards me.
"Nothing's wrong! I have great news!", then it hit me.
My grin turned to a frown.
I realised, when I leave, Lyla will dissapear too.......
