Leaping back to you : Chiaki

HEY! So this is my little sequal to the girl who lept through time. I finished watching the movie again for the billionth time :P

Before I left...the last words she said to me:

"I wont be long....I'll come running" 

I really had hopes in those words. I loved her so much. To see her again just once would be enough. 

It's been 5 years and even though it's been so long, I'm still waiting for her. Ha- That idiot, I wonder if she'll even keep her promise. I wonder...Has she forgotten me? She probably got herself another guy. I wonder how she's going. I never thought that by going back to see that painting, even if it wasn't there...I'd get to meet such a girl....as Makoto. 

It's funny.

These past 5 years, I've done nothing but think about her. It makes me wonder, what she's doing right now and where she is in my time. I wonder if she even made it. 

 I feel so far away from her. Even though we're still under the same sky sometimes I think i'll never see her again. But...I gotta think positive ya know. 

I bet you all are wondering why I never just time leaped back to where she was or stayed with her and never left. I don't know myself...I guess there were reasons unknown to me...to everyone.

"Are you alright?" A kind voice asked. "You seem to be as if your about to cry."

It was Lyla. She's from another period of time. We're not sure where exactly she came from or what era and she's not entirely sure either, but my guess if she's from around Makoto's time. 

I laughed.

"Nah, I'm fine. What's up?" I asked

"Nothing really. I was just about to go out shopping for lunch. Wanna come?" She asked.

"Sure, anything to kill time" I shrugged and put on my sneakers.

It was okay the weather. Could've been better. It reminded me of the time when I went to play baseball with Makoto and- who was it again? Kosuke? Yea....Kosuke and it was about to rain. Thats how the weather was now. Clouds bleached the sky white. Whens the last time I looked up and saw the sun in a bright blue sky without clouds.....months....years even. What with the buildings and the way people live in my time...it's pretty sad. 

I stood at the crossing, staring blankly into space when the light flashed green and everyone around me started to move. 

 Something caught my attention in the corner of my eye as it pased me on the sidewalk.

"Chiaki?" I could hear Lyla ask. "What are you doing?"

Although I was distracted by a girl who walked by me on the sidewalk. Short brown hair with bangs reaching just above her eyes. A thin fragile fame yet so bold and strong looking. 

My eyes widened. I ran after her and grabbed her by the arm.

"Makoto!" I screamed. 

Lyla was already on the other side of the street. Along with her everyone turned to look at me like I was a maniac, screaming out like that. 

"Wha- What did you just call me?" The girl who looked exactly like Makoto looked as if she were about to go into shock. 

"H...How do you know Makoto?" She asked shaking. 

"What do you mean? So your not-"

"Chiaki!" I heard someone call.

"Hurry up lets play ball!" I looked through hazy eyes. She was running backwards, trying to hurry me up. 

Makoto....

"CHIAKI!" 

"WOAH!" I shot up.

"What happened?" I asked. I looked around. It was a small room. Kinda cute, with a little table and stuffed toys. Oh..it must be a girls room.

Lyla was standing next to the bed I was sitting in. 

"You were talking to Yuri here and then you randomly fainted in the street! What on earth happened to make you go so far and black out?"

"Yuri....oh so your not makoto." I said disappointed.

"Yes. I'm sorry. But why did you want to know about Aunty Makoto? Do you know her?"  She asked.

"Well if you really want to know...."

I looked down at the floor.

"There was a painting that I wanted to see so badly, i'd do anything to see it. So I searched everywhere for it and found out it was back in the era when your aunty Makoto was a teenager in her second year of highschool. I originally only planned on timeleaping there for a short while, but before I knew it, it was the summer and I had fallen in love with Makoto. But being the clueless idiot she is, she never noticed. By the time she did notice and it was mutual, it was too late. Somewhere along the way I lost the device letting me charge my body to time leap and luckily it was only makoto that found it. But soon enough, she found out how to use it and started time leaping herself. Before I left, she told me she would come running, but I've never seen her since."

A stray tear ran down my cheek. I loved her so much. I should've done more to keep her.
