10 peaceful years passed. Not exactly peaceful. Not with Tanya around.

I was no longer a new born, but I maintained the strength of one.

Also in those 10 years, I found my powers, and learned more about my past.

First, I had shield,. Both Physical and Mental.

My physical shield was like a force field no one could pass through, I could stretch it over items and lift them. Some what like telekineses. But it wasn't Then my mental shield blocked any mental attacks against me. I also found out if I wrapped my mental shield around someone, I could hear the thoughts they were thinking.

I had perfect control of both shields and they were pretty handy when it came to people who threatened me.

Second, I had the ability to change my, or anyone's appearance, if I wanted.

And that's pretty much it, I guess.

Also , in those 10 years, the Volturi had been trying to get me to work for them in the royal guard.

Since they already found out I had a shield.

My past came to me when I was hunting a mountain lion.

I remembered it like it was yesterday.

I lived with my mother, Renee Swan, and my father, Charlie Swan.

I was so innocent, and lived in blissful ignorance.

One night, I went out to watch a movie, but ended up in a dark alley.

Dark alleys never meant good, right?

I was surrounded by 4 men, and since it was one against four, I was helpless.

They beat me and raped me, then left me, thinking I was dead.

But they were wrong.

I crawled to the forest, hoping to be hidden, when a vampire came along, bit me and voila! I'm here.

But what's past is past.

Life was slow, peaceful. Like the snow that fall to the ground.

I had been figuring a way on how to tell the Denali's that I planned on leaving. I couldn't get too attached.

I ran back to their house, and surprisingly, everyone was there.

I sighed.

"I need to tell you guys something." I said softly.

"What is it dear?" Carmen asked me.

"I need to leave." I said deadpan.

"What? Why?" Kate asked.

"I just feel like a change of environment." I lied. "I want to see the world."

Everyone looked sad. Including Tanya.

Just kidding, Tanya looked like a kid in a candy store. She was about to explode in happiness.

Everyone hugged me, except Tanya, and told me to visit anytime and I promised them I would.

I ran, and ran. Just like the coward I was.

I needed a new place to hide.

And that would be my hometown.

Forks, Washington.
