It's midnight! That means it's Monday, and I have to update! I wasn't going to this now, but I found out I am babysitting tomorrow at 10, and my sister and the boy I watch fight all the time meaning I will not be in the mood to write after he leaves. I would love to get an actual job, but I'm fifteen. It sucks because most of my friends are already sixteen and have jobs. Stupid late birthday. PLEASE READ: trigger warning for mention of self-harm. Be careful. Okay, rant over. On to the chapter!

I woke up in extreme pain. I was quietly cussing under my breath. With extreme effort, I sat up with a groan with my eyes still closed. Slowly, I opened them. I saw Taegan looking at me with concern. I, however, was thrilled. I forgot about my pain, jumped up, and hugged her.

"Taegan! You're okay!" I screamed in joy.

"'Okay' isn't the word I would exactly use, but I'm alive," she said as she hugged me back. As soon as our moment was over, and I released her, she slapped me.

"You dumbass! How could you ever do this to yourself?! Do you actually care about yourself so damn little?!" she yelled at me. I turned away. My mouth went dry.

"I couldn't handle you being gone. The pain was too much," I muttered.

"So you're solution is causing yourself more pain?! In what world does that make sense?!"

I shrugged. I didn't have an answer.

"Sorry," I said. She hugged me tightly.

"Please...promise me you'll never do this to yourself again. No matter what," she said.

"I promise," I said wrapping my arms around her as well. I was lying. Something like this happened again, I knew I would do it again.

After we released each other, I asked, "How long have I been here?"

"Been here? Probably at least twelve hours. I don't know how long the ride was as I was unconscious. You probably wouldn't have been asleep that long if you weren't bleeding to death," she said with a small glare. I dropped my gaze to the ground.

"Then again, they could have treated you and fixed up your arm," she said with a small smile.

"Have you seen the others?" I asked.

"No, but I've heard them. The room isn't exactly soundproof."

I then took in our surroundings. The walls were metal with a bunk bed on the right one. The door however was made up of close-together metal bars. I approached the door and put my hands on the bars.

"Can you guys talk without getting yelled at?" I asked.

"Yeah. They don't really pay attention to us other than bringing food once a day. They came about twenty minutes before you woke up. We're good for a while."

"Yo guys! It's Will! Sound off! Who's here?!" I yelled.

"Hey Will. Welcome to the party," I heard Ethan say in a normal talking voice. That would be my cousin. He was the first to go missing.

"Wait, we're that close together that we don't have to yell?" I asked.

"Yes Will," my friend Kylee said. She's a friend that I met through my friend Brenda who I met from when we were little and did swim lessons together. Speaking of which...

"Brenda, you here?" I asked.

"Yes. I was wondering when you would show up."
