~Alex's POV~
I walk off the ship with my heart and hopes in my hands, excited to start a new life. I already for my job and an apartment I can stay in. He has the thread around his wrist on his right hand, he remembers the day his mother gave it to him.
///Flash Back///
"Here's your red thread"
"What do I do with it?"
I weighted it in my palm as if it would be heavier in it than on my finger.
"That is the thread that connects you to your soulmate," my mother said calmly, taking her her hand through my hair.
"What is a soulmate?"
"It's someone who is connected to you by your thread," she looks down at her ponytail that the thread was attached to.
"Have you found yours?" I ask hoping for a gleeful response.
"No" she says plainly.
"Ma, how do you know when find your soulmate?"
"Well you feel a force binding you two together and making you unable to move out of the grip holding you together. Well that's at least what people tell me."
"Wow" I said and glaring at the crimson red thread between my fingers.///Flash back over///
I step into the street and walk to the apartment that I found online. I walk into the building and approach a door that says "Landlord" I knock my famous three knocks. The door open immediately and I see a man a little older than me and he's taller than me.
"Hello sir, I'm Alexander Hamilton I messaged you about an apartment," I say as I stick out my hand.
"Ah yes, come in Mr. Hamilton and please call me Aaron." He says smiling and stepping out of the way of the door. I enter his office and see a desk with some chairs in front of it, I sit in one of the chairs and he sits behind his desk.
"The lease is $500 every 2 weeks and you have a parking space outside." He hands me a key and stands to show me my room. I follow him to the second floor and to a room at the end of the hall.
"Here it is, have fun." He says as he turns around and walks back to his office. I roll my eyes and enter the estate seeing that it looks better than the pictures. I walk around it looking at each room carefully making sure it's worth my money, then I enter the master bedroom and see it has a full size bed, a desk, a dresser, and a small closet.
"Well this place is better than what it seems," I start to in pack my things into my dresser when I get an alarm on my phone.
'Interview!'
I sigh and pick up my bag and leave the apartment. It's time to go get a job!
I walk to a tall building with glass doors as I enter I see a beautiful woman with long brown hair.
"Hello! How may I help you" she says sitting behind a tall desk.
"I have an interview with Mr. Washington" I say smiling. She's beautiful, what if she's my soulmate?'
I think to myself she looks up from her computer.
"Is it Mr. Hamilton?" I nod and she goes back to her computer screen." Found it! I will call him right now then tell you when he's ready for you." She says as she picks up the phone and presses a number, I nod and quickly walk over to sit down.
The lobby in this building is amazing! The ceiling is raised very high, there are lights hanging down from it, there are stairs leading up to the second floor I presume, and there are elevators on both sides of the room. I sit quietly waiting for my names to be called, hopefully it'll be soon. I guess she read my mind because after I thought that she called my name. I walk up to her desk quickly.
"It's on floor 5 in the conference room," I thank her and quickly walk towards the elevator. I jam my finger into the button that has a big five on it and wait as patiently as possible. It finally gets to the floor, I step out and walk down the hall looking for the conference room. I walk in to see a man with a dark complexion and no hair sitting at a table.
"Mr. Hamilton, come in." I gulp and walk to a seat. 'Relax Alex, you'll be fine. I hope......'
