I brushed my hair into a nice ponytail then put on my best suit I could find, which also happened to be my only suit. I sighed and looked into the mirror in my bathroom. This is it Hamilton. Your first date with a girl you barely know! I grab my wallet and keys and soon I'm out the door on my way to Eliza's house. I walk down the street then turn and walk for what seems like forever, damn these rich people and how they live so far away from others! I sigh and stand outside of a big cream colored house, it's beautiful but expensive as you can tell from the front yard. It's got bushes and fountains all sorts of decorations, I roll my eyes. How is it that one of the poorest people in New York is going on a date with on of the richest?! I mutter as I knock on the door. A girl with a dark complexion and very dark brown hair opens the door, I smile at her beauty.
"Hello! I'm here for Eliza" I speak with a quaking voice. She nods.
"You must be Alexander. I am her older sister, Angelica. It's a pleasure to meet you! You know she would not stop talking about you after she go off work." I smile nervously and nod.
"She seems to be on my mind since I first talked to her" I lie, I did it so this fricken girl would punch my in the mouth cause she looked like she wanted to. She cocked an eyebrow.
"Are you soulmates? Because I don't see a read string attaching you by the wrists" she gestures to my string that I have then looks back up in my eyes. I nervously rub my arm then see someone out of the corner of my eye, I turn and see Eliza rushing towards me.
"Hi Angie! Bye Angie" she says as she pushes me out the door and shuts it. She turns to me and walks down the path.
"May I ask what that's about?" I say as I catch up to her. She smiles and nods.
"Well my sister Angelica always ruins my chances with people before I can even get to know them. She says that I shouldn't be wasting my time with people and I should be out on the streets looking for my soulmate..." she trails off and nod.
"Well it's nice to have someone occupy you until you meet your soulmate so you aren't lonely in the world."
"I think that to! She always says she knows what's best for me cause she's my older sister but I know that I can get through this world without someone guiding me through it, ya know?" I nod in response and we continue to walk towards the restaurant. "So Mr. Hamilton, why don't you have a car?" She says.
"Well I actually just moved her yesterday from my home island, and I don't have enough for one. That's why I had an interview today." She makes an 'o' shape with her mouth and keeps walking.
"Why don't you Ms. Schuyler?" I glance at her.
"My father doesn't want me to get into an accident so I only use it when I go to work, since it's across town" I nod.
"I prefer to walk ya know."
"Why is that" she asks as we approach the restaurant.
"Well cars pollute the air and it's not good so I end up either taking a bus/ train or I walk." I say as I open the door for her. She walks in and goes towards the waiter. He takes us to our table and we sit across from eachother.
"So tell me where you're from!" She says cheerfully.
"Well I'm from the Virgin Island Nevis." She gasps.
"Didn't a hurricane just hit Nevis?!" I nod.
"Yes, it um destroyed my town and killed my brother along with other people I knew on the island." I say and look down at my lap. She puts her hand on mine and my head shoots up.
"Hey even though we're not soulmates I want you to be happy, okay?" She smiles sweetly at me.A/N Yeah yeah I know not really the whole date kind of chapter but it was supposed to be based on them getting to know eachother better and that's what I did so *sticks out tongue*. Anyways next chapter in Thomas' POV so we'll see his relationship he's in right now. There is a reference to my other Jamilton book so you'll have to read that to get the reference. Also in this book I ship a mister James Madison with Burr sooooo which I do not approve of but it's for the sake of a friend
