*Chapter 3*

*Skittles POV*

" okay so obviously we are going to find my parents and stay with them at the safe house.... Unless you guys want to do something different." I said. We were stopped in middle of the free way making decisions on where to go. I kinda wanted to go find my parents at the safe house, but I was really focused on what my friends wanted to do. Cuz.. I don't know maybe they want to go off on there own." I'm fine with whatever you want to do skyler, cuz I don't know where my mom is and I don't even have a clue." Mariah was to the first to speak. I nodded. Then looked at Megan." I'll go with you to skyler, I don't know where my mom is either."

I didn't even ask my cousins opinion cuz they weren't going to go off on there own, I knew that. I looked around out the windows to make sure we didn't have the walking dead coming towards us. We didn't." Alright so I guess that's where we are going the safe house." I stepped back on the gas and we were going on a hour drive to Miami. I saw Mariah pull out her head phones and Austin and destiny falling asleep in the back.

* five minuets later*

Megan was out cold with my cousins and it was just me and Mariah left up. " you know, we should go hit the mall before we go met your parents." She said." Yeah Maybe we should. What do you want to do there though?" I said hitting the right and getting off he free way to the mall." We'll one we need to jump this car and I figure there will be plenty to choose at the mall and we might be able to get more weapons there because you know damn well that we are going to need them." Mariah said. She was right we did need to Jump this car ASAP, and we did need more weapons cuz we will run low evidently." And I think we should see if that's a good spot to use as a safe house. Cuz it would have everything we need there , lots if food, bathrooms weapons, and the doors lock down with iron gates. We could practically live there." She said. I was thinking the same thing too. Go to the mall and just hide out there for a while. Perfect. But we would have to go to my parents and see what's up with them first. I sighed, " yeah that's perfect plan. But we would have to see what's up with my parents first." She nodded" yeah" " but we still have too jump the truck, so we will go down there anyways." We were off the free way and I could see the mall from here. It wasn't that big it would be perfect. "Alright destiny ,Austin ,meg get up! We're going to get rid of this truck so were going to have to move all this stuff." I yelled. Megan sat up and started shaking des and Austin started moving. " there ," Mariah said pointing " a slick black puma" I looked over and I thought It was a perfect car. " ohh cool, alright everybody out grab as many bags as you can and do it fast, there's no doubt that there are zombies everywhere." I stopped the truck and everybody jumped out to grab a bag from the back. But when we jumped out we found that the zombies were already swarming us. shit shit shit. Everybody was panicking," run to the mall! Run to the mall. I grab des and yanked her along. I looked back to see meg being the last one. We made it to the malls entrance and I yanked the door open and pulled it shut and chained it up. "Run up the stairs!"I shouted. We we scanning for a good room. I reached back for my gun which was tucked into my pants, I didn't want to shoot but I needed it handy. We had zombies on our trail. We had everybody as far as I could tell. we ran past a small clothing store," stop, stop , stop! here here!" we ran in and I was trying to find the closing metal gate. I shut the glass doors. and tied a shirt around it throwing my bag down trying to find the metal gate. WhenI found it I locked it up not thinking about having a key to unlock it when the time comes. Looking around behind me we had everybody, but destiny was awfully tired. I stood there for a second. looking at everyone. i picked up my back and picked up des bridal style. "go to sleep bebe. "I said. she wrapped her arms around my neck and started to drift off." Mariah out look around for any walkers." I carried des around with me." wait," megan said," do we have our weapons?" I looked around at the bags," did any one grab the one bag that had all the weapons?"i whisper screamed. Mariah picked up the bags and started ripping threw them, a zombie smacked into the door." hey des I need you to stay awake for a little longer okay?" she groaned but got up."okay so does anyone have weapons on them?" I said walking over to the counter. Mariah picked up a few bags and followed me. I put my gun and knife I had on me on the counter. Mariah had a pocket knife. I looked around waiting for someone eles to put up a weapon ... no one did. " damn. okay ill have my gun Mariah keep your knife and Megan your can use my knife. meg, Austin you guys check to see if this place is secure for the time being but don't open any doors. Des and Mariah you come with me." I said . meg and Austin were off looking around. I was looking for heavy objects. We found a dresser and pushed in front of the door. I pursed my lips looking around once more." Mariah are you sure we don't have the weapons bag?" I asked." Bebe if we had the weapons bag we would all have knifes. " She said back sarcastically. Okay then we're going to have to find some." We went behind the desk and found a gun. a pretty decent one too. I checked the clip. 2 rounds, 2 freaking rounds. I sigh handing the gun to Mariah and giving the pocket knife to Des. Mariah put the gun in her belt line, we went over to a door. I gave my little group a look and opened the door. It was a bloody mess. A person half gone and a zombie. I grabbed des's knife and stabbed it the head and twisted. I looked around and find a crow bar. I gave that to des, keeping the knife. Then I remembered that we didn't have anybody on whatch. ". Des can you go watch the door? Yell if a zombies busting threw okay?" She nodded and headed off. " this is some bull shit." Said Mariah," what you mean?" I asked we walked out of the closet " we'll we're stranded here.With blearily any weapons ."she said back. She was right, we were stuck here at like 8 a clock at night. Megan and Austin walked up and said they found nothing but a vent. Big enough for us to travel in. I thought about that for a sec. That would be a good way to get out of here. "Okay let's go, like now" I said. I did not want to be in here. " okay come on ill show you where it is" she said and walked over to the vent. I poped the screen off. " you guys want to do this?" I asked. We really didn't have any options. They nodded there heads. " okay," I said and went in first. We went a little ways ahead and came to a curve. I stopped for a sec. Then continued on. Next thing I knew the floor of the vent was falling from beneath me." fuck!"the air in my lungs was gone. I fell on the floor on my back and hit my head so hard I saw stars. The rest of the gang didn't follow after me though," we'll find another way down!" They whisper screamed. I curled up in a ball. Ohh my god, this does not feel good. I needed to get my bearings back. I got up, still a little fucked up, but I got up and looked around noticing I was in hot topic. I had a head ace now. I turned the corner and was grabbed from behind, knife to my throat. Really?!?! " nice drop, you scared the fuck out of me." Said a guy my brain had finally registered what was happening. I took a slow shaggy breath. The knife pushed more against my throat." Nothing to say??" He said." Don't do it, please don't do it." Was all that finally came out o my mouth but I was pleading instead of trying to kick this guys ass. He slowly let go. I quickly turned around and he put his hands up in surrender. I got a good look, this guy was cute. Really cute which stopped me from pulling my gun. My mind wasn't working right. I would have pulled my gun." That was a nice drop though. Are you okay??" He asked. I couldn't register what he was saying but he didn't have time to ask his question again because my eyes were like blacking out. I heard Mariah and Megan screaming my name when I collapsed to the floor.
