Chen, on his way back from work, passed by a boutique which has been opened recently in the town. He looked through the window of the boutique, admiring the view of the exquisite gowns and dresses inside.

"Woah...." he exclaimed, impressed by the nature of the clothing inside.

Then, his eyes caught a wonderful, silky, ruby-red dress worn by a mannequin right in the middle of the boutique. It was long, strapless, with a V-shaped waistline and bell-shaped skirt. His knowledge about dresses is limited, but even he could tell that the dress looked amazingly gorgeous.

Thoughts race through his mind, and no, not the thought of wearing it for himself, but the thought of buying it for someone special. His one and only love.

His wife.

But then, could he afford it? His salary as a clerk do not allow his family to have that kind of luxury. Eventhough his wife tried to ease their burden by working at a nearby grocery shop, their total income were only sufficient for providing daily needs. With all those bills left to be paid and debts waiting to be settled, buying an expensive dress doesn't seemed to be a wise choice.

Chen sighed. How nice it will be if he managed to buy the dress for his wife. And thinking about her, he smiled a bit. "She's a wonderful wife" he thought.

Indeed, Nami is a lovely lady. She tend to be overlooked on the first sight, but upon knowing her, her charm and attractiveness will mesmerize almost anyone. And her eyes, Chen thought, is the most beautiful pair of eyes ever rested on a woman's face.

But now, Chen noticed that those eyes appeared tired, and a bit sunken. They were unlike those times ago, when he and she were both young, at the time when those eyes were bright and filled with life. Nowadays, they have lost their colour, perhaps due to strains upon having to take care of their two children, and their home as well.

Chen sighed again.

He looked at the red dress for the final time, for today at least, and turning his head away and walked back home.

Nami tried her hardest to scrub off the nasty little dirt on the kitchen sink. She had spent the day cleaning the house since morning, and the kitchen sink was the last 'battlefield'. She had desired to do the cleaning since ages, but rarely found the time to do so, not with the two kids playing around.  And tomorrow, after two-days holiday, she need to work at the grocey shop early in the morning. Luckily, those two kids were sleeping. At least she can do her cleaning uninterrupted.

Half an hour later, everything was done. "Yeah!!" she threw her hands in the air and gave out sigh of relief.

"Uh..... I'm so tired. Haha..." she sat down on the floor and rested her back to the wall.

Today was a good day, she thought, as she wiped her sweaty forehead with her hands. Then she looked at the clock on the opposite wall.

"6:35 p.m. He should be arriving soon" she mumbled.

True enough, Chen arrived home a few minutes later, unlocked the front door and closed it. As a force of habit, he took off his left shoes first, and then the right one, and placed them upon the second drawer of the shoes cabinet. Then, he walked briskly to the bedroom, and after few moments, appeared with a towel and went for a bath in the bathroom.

"Do you want to have dinner right after taking your bath, Chen?" Nami asked.

Chen nodded. Then, he went into the bathroom.
