Part Seven: They're Here

Hayley's POV:

"Will it hurt when it wears off?" I asked. I had just gotten out of surgery and my leg was numb. The nurse had just said that the medicine they gave to numb it would wear off in a few hours.

"Yes. We had to do a lot more than we thought we would need to today - your leg was a lot worse than we thought. We'll call your sister back into the room to tell her about your recover-"

The nurse was interrupted when I saw Annie open the door and run into my room.

"Annie? What are you doing here?" I asked.

"I... I saw... I... It was... I couldn't believe..." She was out of breath.

"Annie. Calm down and take a breath. Who did you see?"

"I saw... (*takes a deep breath*) I saw Mom and Dad. They're here. Right now. I have no idea why and I have no idea how we're going to get away."

I felt terrible. I needed to tell her what I did.
