You ran the fastest your legs could move, heart beating fast
in your chest. This large amount of movement called for
sharp pains forming in your sides, due to the lack of exercise
you usually never endured. You couldn't let him get away. Not in this lifetime.

You pushed through the crowds of people, causing nasty glares to be
sent your way. Though at this moment. You couldn't have cared if you were even caught on live television.

Adrenaline coursed through your veins, tears brimmed your eyes. Everything in this moment seemed to fade, the only thing that seemed crucial was reaching Dennis. Before he stepped on that damned subway. The one thing that threatened to take away your lifeline.

You skidded to a sudden stop, snapping from your overcrowding thoughts. Gasps of air began escaping your lips as you gazed across the flood of people.

Looking for that one male. Your senses bounced from
body to body, not seeing the one you'd just ran the dreaded mile for. You felt your legs quiver beneath your weight.

No Dennis. He's gone. This thought cause your whole body to shut down. Back hitting up against the wall of the subway station, as the tears broke free. The one thing holding them back suddenly gone. Hope. You'd lost it all.

You came to the conclusion you'd lost your love. Which knocked you cold from reality. People around you stopped, stared. Even grew bewildered as to why you sat, face in hands.

The only thought that came to your mind was, maybe if you closed your eyes, he would appear. Maybe that 0.1% chance of him showing up would be enough.

This sobbing continued until you heard loud footsteps coming your way, and felt a calloused hand running over your own hands that hid your face. This gathered your attention, as you looked up from the darkness created by your hand shield.

"D-Dennis?" You cried out, eyes puffed with redness. He stood aback, taking in your expression. His own heart breaking from the sorrow that took over your body.

Your whole body jerked up, immediately engulfing the man into your arms. "I-I Thought you were gone!"

This broke the usually cold expressioned male, a few tears being shed from his own eyes as he snaked his arms around your waist. The warmth radiating through the both of you, filling the station and hitting the others around you.
He shook his head, face twisting into a frown. "No, not quite. I couldn't step on the subway.. without you making an appearance in my head."

This caused a sad chuckle to escape your plumped lips. Before you quickly retreated from the hug. "I'm so glad you're not gone." You truthfully spoke, emotion pouring from the sentence. As you both looked straight into each other's eyes others around you seemed to disappear.

"And I am glad you are here." He replied, his chest puffing as he leaned down, molding his lips against yours. His glasses riding up against the bridge of your nose, causing a sensation to bubble throughout your stomach. A fire between you two, igniting with want.

He led this on for quite a moment. Though pulling away with his usual stern expression. Making you chuckle with amusement. He cocked an eyebrow and used his digits to brush the strands of hair from hiding your face.

"How about a compromise?" He spoke up, his voice gruff.

"What could that be?" You replied, lightly tilting your head in a dog-like fashion.

He gave a small chuckle; adding on with "I'll let Barry take you shopping."
