Missing Princess // A YOONGI FANFIC

Chapter 1

KINGDOM OF BAEKJE

(Iseul's P.O.V)

"Princess? Princess, where are you?" I heard my court ladies call me. I chuckled as I was looking at them run around from behind the wall. I ran out and back to my brothers with a big smile on my face.

"There she is hurry ladies," I heard them say. Oh well, they were bound to find me at one point.

I saw two familiar figures. I sprinted to them and jumped them.

"Hello, my dear brothers. How are you today?" I asked my brothers.

"Iseul, are you running around hiding again?"

I smiled mischievously and nodded, saying, "Of course, Crown Prince. If I wasn't, I wouldn't be your dear twin Iseul. Correct?"

My twin brother rolled his eyes at me. Then I heard a little chuckle.

I looked down and saw my little brother. "Hmm is it funny, Jungkookie?"

He nodded at me and said, "That, and the court ladies are right behind you looking really tired, noona. You sure do keep them on their toes."

I smiled and pinched his nose, then I replied, "Of course. It's my job, isn't it?"

"Princess, Little Prince and Crown Prince, lunch is served. Please join the King in the dining hall." We all nodded and bowed at the lady then we headed to the dining room.

If you haven't figured it out yet, we are a royal family. We are from Baekje, bordering on Silla and Gaya. Our family consists of the King who is our father, Seokjin. Then there's me and my twin brother, we are 20 years old. I'm Iseul and my brother's name is Hoseok. He is the Crown Prince. We have a little brother of 8 years old, his name is Jungkook. Our mother? Well, she got really sick a few years ago and passed away, leaving me as the only girl in the family.

"Father, we have arrived," said Hoseok. We all bowed to our father and took our seats.

"Hello, my dear children. How has your day been?" I let my brothers speak first.

When it was my turn, I smiled and said, "Exciting as usual."

My father laughed and asked, "What did you do today?"

"Well, we played some hide and seek with my court ladies. They seemed tired when I finally stopped running around."

He smiled happily and told me, "You become more like your mother everyday." I smiled and nodded.

When my mother passed away and I grew older, I kept hearing that I am a lot like her. Even after me and my brothers were born, she was still mischievous, which was the best of all. I am also told I resemble her in more than just my personality. So even if she left, I can show she is still alive in our hearts by being myself.

But if Father knew what I was planning on doing tomorrow, he will surely not let me even leave my room, so I have to be very careful but it is worth the risk... I really want to see the village so I am planning on dressing up as a court lady and sneaking out of the palace.

NEXT DAY

I woke up earlier than usual and snuck out of my room. I found some court lady's clothing and quickly went to change into it. I then headed out, making sure no one saw me. I snuck past the guards at the gate and finally, freedom. I was outside the palace walls for the first time ever. I made my way down the pathway to the village's entrance. I heard footsteps but didn't think much of it. But I should have. All I remember was feeling a hard knock on my head and everything going black.

(AUTHOR P.O.V)

Just before Princess Iseul came out of the palace dressed as a court lady, there were two merchants hiding in the trees near the palace, waiting for someone to exit. Unfortunately, that person was Iseul. As she was making her way down the pathway, they followed her. When they got close enough, they hit her on her head and quickly hid her in the litter with their goods they were taking to sell to noblemen.

For Iseul, they wanted to sell her as a concubine to some noblemen for a lot of gold. If only they knew the person they had wasn't a court lady but a princess... The two merchants made their way to the border of Baekje and Silla, being careful not to be caught.

MEANWHILE IN BAEKJE PALACE

"Princess, are you awake yet?" called the court ladies, but they got no answer. They continued it for a good 30 minutes before entering her room, only to find the Princess missing. In panic, they all ran around the palace grounds, searching for her. When they couldn't find her, they decided on reporting it to the King immediately.

"Your Majesty, it's Princess Iseul," said the head court lady.

"What about my daughter?" asked the King seriously.

"Your Majesty, this morning, when we went to wake her up, she wasn't in her room. We thought she may be around the palace ground so we went and searched but had no luck in finding her."

The king was panicking. That was until his trusty adviser, Namjoon, said, "Your Majesty, don't worry. She will probably be here by dinner time. The Princess is mischievous. We all know it. She won't just wonder off without saying anything."

The king nodded and told the court ladies to keep a eye out. If they see her, they were to inform him immediately. The court ladies agreed.

SILLA

(AUTHOR'S P.O.V)

The merchants arrived at the border but found some unexpected people waiting for them. Royal guards. Well, they weren't waiting for them, but they did stop everyone crossing the border to make sure there were no smugglers. The guards stopped them. Fear and nervousness was shown on their faces which the guards noticed, but they brushed it off. They made their way to the back and found Iseul. She was now awake and crying, shaking in fear. She mouthed to the guards to help her. The guards made a plan to get Iseul out without the merchants knowing. Two of the guards went to the front and spoke to the men while the other guard quickly helped her out of the litter and hid her in the trees, telling her to wait for them and that they will take her somewhere safe.

They quickly sent off the merchants who were clueless. They didn't take them in because to whoever they would have sold the girl to will surely handle them their self. The guards quickly contacted their chief and waited for him to come to their security point.

"Shownu, we need you to take this girl to the palace. We found her in some merchants' litter. We suspect she was kidnapped to be sold as a concubine," said the guard to their chief.

The latter looked at them, shocked, and replied, "Poor girl. Where is she? I mean, the King won't be too happy about a girl in the palace, but we have no choice."

The guards brought him over to the girl who was now passed out in her hiding spot. The chief felt like he has met her or seen her somewhere before but he couldn't put his finger on it. Nonetheless, he still escorted her to the palace.
