Chapter 1
The sun just shone through the curtains, the soft light barely on the young king's face. Everything seemed calm at the moment. Suddenly the curtains were harshly thrown open.
"Your Highness, It's time to wake up." Stated a dull voice from across the room. Suga barely opened eyes. He groaned before sitting up.
"Already?" Suga asked as he looked at the clock. "But it's only eight thirty. Usually you let me sleep till nine." He chuckled lightly as he got up. The assistant just shook his head before adjusting his glasses.
"Seems like you forgot about the meeting tomorrow, I had to wake you early so we'd have enough time for the council to prep you." Tsukishima explained with a sigh. "The prepping starts at noon so there's enough time for you to have breakfast and look over some documents on your desk." The blonde added. Suga shook his head before getting up quickly."Right, Right. Sorry for forgetting." He apologized quickly. Tsukishima just sighed again before heading over to the dresser.
"No need to apologize, get dressed and after you're done I will escort you to breakfast." The male hummed before bowing. The grey haired king quickly dismissed his assistant before undressing. He changed into a simple white dress shirt and a brown vest before slipping on a pair of black pants. Suga brushed his bangs out of his face before exiting his room. His brown eyes quickly scanned the hallway before spotting Tsukishima leaning against a wall talking to Yaich. As soon as the two spotted him they quickly bowed.
"Good morning your Highness." The shorter girl greeted quietly. Suga smiled at her and nodded.
"As to you, Yachi." He replied in a polite tone to the maid. The blonde smiled before quickly excusing herself to go clean. Tsukishima leaned his head to the left as if to say 'follow me.' before he started walking. The king followed the tall assistant and would glance around the hall, looking out the windows every now and then. The pair quickly made it to the dining hall. Tsukishima pulled out the chair at the end of the the table for Suga. The grey haired male quickly thanked him before sitting down. Suga hummed quietly to himself and looked out one of the tall windows. It was a perfect day outside. Bright sun, cool breeze, anyone would wanna be outside today. He heard the clashing of metal and shifted his gaze. The king smiled as he saw his faithful guard that also held the title of childhood friend training outside. The black haired knight had a large smile as he disarmed his opponent. Suga watched as Daich patted Tanaka on the back before noticing his king watching him. The knight quickly bowed and waved to Suga. The brown eyed male moved his arm to wave but was interrupted by a loud crash. Suga sighed to himself as he knew exactly what was gonna happen next.
"Dumbass Hinata!" Kageyama yelled from the kitchen. He could hear the sound of the smaller cook whining.
"It's not my fault stupid! You forgot to clean the oven mitts, so I can't use them!" The orange haired cook defended. "The pans burned my hands! I didn't mean to drop them!"
Suga glanced at his taller assistant. "Tsukishima, can you go break up their fight? I would like to eat before my meeting." Suga requested with a slightly agitated look. The blonde nodded before heading off towards the kitchen. The grey haired male gently tapped his fingers against the wood as he waited. After a couple minutes Tsukishima returned with a simple but nice looking breakfast of bread, oatmeal and fresh berries.
"Hers's your breakfast your Highness." The male said as he put the tray down. Suga smiled brightly at the food and nodded in approval.
"Thank you." He hummed out happily. He grabbed his spoon and began to eat his food slowly to savor every bite. After awhile Daichi and Asahi entered the room. Suga quickly wiped his face and greeted the two. "Good morning Daichi and you as well Asahi." He said with a bright grin. Daichi waved to the king.
"Good morning your Highness. Sorry if I interrupted your breakfast this morning when I was training. " The knight apologized with a bow. Asahi gave Suga a nervous smile.
"G-good morning your highness." Asahi stammered out quickly. Suga chuckled lightly at the nervous gardener before waving the two off.
"Go have breakfast you two. Daich I expected you will be excoriating me to the prepping today?" He hummed out before returning to his meal. The black haired male nodded.
"Of course my king." He said before heading off towards the kitchen with Asahi.Suga quickly finished the rest of his breakfast and stood up. "Tsukishima, you said there were some documents?" He hummed out while walking towards the door. The blonde nodded and walked with the king.
"Yes your Highness. Nothing to big but I do believe you should look over them briefly." He explained. Suga simply hummed in reply. He would glance at some of the portraits on the wall as they walked. As light smile graced his lips as he gazed at the one of his mother and father. The young king usually didn't try to think about his deceased family but when he did Suga tried to focus on the good memories. When they died he was forced into power and had to grow up quickly. Suga went through a dark period of time but his friends and servants were there for him. Suga didn't realize he had gotten lost in thought. Tsukishima snapped his fingers in front of the males face. "Your Highness, we're here." The assistant mentioned. Suga quickly shook his head and rubbed his eyes.
"Oh sorry, I was just thinking." The grey haired king apologized. Tsukishima just nodded before opening the door.
"I'll be in the other room, if you need anything just call me in." He said before leaving. Suga simply hummed in response before walking into his office. The king sighed as he sat down at the desk. His sorted the papers quickly before he began reading them. Nothing interesting. Mostly just things about things needing funding or fixing. He hummed quietly before sighing a paper agreeing to give more funding to the school. Suga continued doing this for awhile before hearing a light knock at the door.
"Come in." He called out.As the door opened Suga looked up from his papers and smiled as he saw Daichi and Tsukishima enter the room. "I'm here to escort you to your meeting." The black haired male announced with a bright smile. The king nodded before getting up.
"Nice to see you Daichi." Suga greeted in a polite tone. "I hope you had a good breakfast." The king chuckled as he looked up at his friend. Daichi nodded.
"I did your Highness. Hopefully the meeting won't take to long, Asahi wanted to get your approval on the garden. The lilacs just grew in and he wanted to see if you liked them." The taller male explained. Suga nodded happily as they walked.
"Anything to get me out of paper work." He joked. Daichi laughed lightly while Tsukishima simply rolled his eyes.
"Daichi, after dinner I suggest you check over the map. You don't want to take his Highness on any dangerous routes tomorrow." The assistant nagged lightly. Daichi simply hummed in response.
"Of course Tsukishima. I wouldn't want to put him any danger. I am his fateful knight, and the only one who seems qualified to keep him safe." He joked with a slightly smirk. Suga held back his laughter so not to upset his assistant. The blonde bit his lip and glared lightly at at the Knight.
"Here you are, in joy your meeting." Tsukishima mumbled. Suga sighed at those words before entering the room, Daichi in tow."Good morning everyone." Suga said to his counsel of advisors as he sat down. They all said some form of greeting to him before they began.
"Now your Highness. Tomorrow the meeting will mostly consist of discussing territory and the possibility of war. Ever since King Oikawa has started conquering smaller kingdoms tensions are very high. Most kingdoms have thought about starting an alliance either with him or against him. But to but it bluntly, when rumor spreads about that kingdom started an uprising, their usually conquered or wiped out." Takeda explained with a deep frown on his face. "Tomorrow I suggest you try not to anger Oikawa tomorrow...." he muttered while fixing his glasses. Kiyoko and Ikkei sighed at their nervous partner.
"Calm down, I doubt he will launch an attack on us." Kiyoko observed. "...though it wouldn't hurt to suggest a treaty." She finished quietly. Suga sighed and frowned.
"You all know I wish not to start a war, I'll suggest a treaty tomorrow. I'm sure at least one of the others will agree to support it. Hopefully the others will follow suit. We don't need a repeat of what happened before." The king warned. "In the last war to much innocent blood was spilled. I will not make the same mistakes as my parents, I will do anything in my power to stop conflict." He declared with a stern tone. The advisers nodded with approval."Very good my king, but if war does come. Are you prepared to fight? We don't exactly have an army." Ikkei questioned with a raised eyebrow. Suga stood up from the table and looked around the table.
"I am willing to give both my soul and life to protect the people of this kingdom. I don't have much but the people trust me, I'm sure I can get them to follow whatever army I can scrap up into battle." Suga replied in a confident tone. Daichi smiled at the king. The Council nodded in approval before dismissing the meeting. Suga headed towards the door with Daichi. "How did my little speech go?" He asked with a smile. Daichi chuckled at this.
"It went very well. Just one thing." He answered. Suga gave a confused look.
"Huh? What is it?" Suga questioned. Daichi smirked and got down on a knee and took his Kings hand."They'll have to get through me before you have to give up your life."
