As soon as Jesse and I had recovered from our first shock of amazement, we looked at each other and knew, without needing words, what the other was thinking.
"Race you to the front door" I challenged Jesse and, without waiting for his agreement, ran for the door. "Hey, that's unfair!" I heard Jesse yell after me, but I kept running and heard him laugh behind me and catch up. Ten metres before the door he overtook me and arrived first, grinning at me wickedly.
I scowled at him, but couldn't keep it up, finally giving in and laughing.
"Let's go in" Jesse suggested and I agreed.
I opened the door and the first thing we saw was a very big room with a wooden floor and nice off-white walls. Behind us, Jason entered the house and switched on the lights. The entrance hall was illuminated by a big, golden chandelier hanging from the roof. In front of us, at the end of the hall, was a wide staircase, leading to the upper floor. To the left was a big opening in the wall, behind which you could see a big kitchen connecting to a dining-room with a large table and behind that a glass sliding door, leading into the garden.
To the right was a similar opening, leading into an enormous living room with black, comfortable looking couches and loveseats, infront of it a small table of similar style as the dining table. Against the wall opposite to the entrance to the living room, stood a big flat-screen tv. Next to that was another big glass sliding door, leading into another part of our enormous garden.
"As you can see, the kitchen is to your left and the living room to your right. Up the stairs and to the left are two bedrooms, each with their own bathroom and balcony. To the right you will find one large bedrrom, also with its own bath and balcony, and two smaller rooms, sharing a bath and a balcony" Jason said, and began leading us towards the staircase.
"You kids take the two bedrooms to the left and mom and I will share the master bedroom to the right." Dad called after us as we raced up the stairs and then turned left.
There was a corridor and at the end of it big glass windows facing the back of our garden and infront of them cosy but quite big window seats.
"Oh my god!!!!!!!! I love this!!!!!!!!!" I exclaimed and ran towards the windows, throwing myself onto one of the window seats.
"Wait until you see the bedrooms," I heard Jesse's muffled voice from one of the rooms off of the corridor. I jumped up and ran into the one off to the left and saw him standing with his back to me, looking around in amazement.
The room was as big as one of our classrooms back home (that's quite big, let me tell you)with a wooden floor and purple walls. There was a big doubledoor in front of me, leading onto my very own balcony and next to it large windows with window seats. I squealed with delight and turned to my left for further inspection: there was another double door. I opened it and stepped into my bathroom, which had a walk-in closet attached to it.
"OHMYGOD! I love this!" I laughed and turned around, facing Jesse. He looked at me and started laughing.
"You're so cute when you're so delighted" he said and started running, already knowing what was about to come. I ran after him, laughing and trying to hit him, giving up after failing a few times.
After calming down we went into the other room and discovered that it basically looked exactly the same, except thatv the walls were green.
We went over to our parents room and found that they had already gone back to the car to get our stuff. We quickly checked out the two guestrooms and then went after them.
We only had a bag with clothing and toiletries each, as our furniture and stuff had already arrived yesterday and was waiting to be unpacked in the garage.
Since nothing was unpacked yet we just decided to get the matresses and put them together on the floor in the livingroom and went to bed.

I groaned. "Stupid jet-lag" I whispered after waking up and discovering it was 3 in the morning. Since I couldn't seem to fall asleep again, I got up and silently made my way up the stairs into my bathroom to take a shower. After putting my only clothes back on, I went downstairs into the kitchen and found my mom there, preparing some bread for us. Everyone was up.
After breakfast we all went into the garage to start unpacking. We started with the kitchen stuff, then the living room, then my parents room and eventually mine and Jesse's room. The rest of the stuff we put into the guest rooms. We were done with unpacking and putting up the furniture by 12 o'clock and decided to take a break and have lunch.
"Let's go out and have a burger or something," Jesse suggested.
"Yeah, I also want a burger" I agreed.
"You kids go out, we'll stay here and prepare something for ourselves" my dad suggested and my mom agreed, but only after giving us a lecture about being careful and blahblahblah.
Jesse and I decided to quickly go take a shower and put on some fresh clothes since we had sweated quite a lot while unpacking.
30 minutes later we left the house and made our way down to the gate for which we both had our own key.
"Let's go check out this new town" Jesse said to me and grinned mischievously. Without looking back to me, he made his way across the road and started walking towards the centre of town, which was only 2 minutes away.
I grinned and ran after him.
Not ever would I have expected what was awaiting us.
