I see the glint of fear in her eye
When we talk about her heart
Like the mere thought of leaving
Would tear her right apart

Yet little does she know
I cannot even leave
I went from having no heart at all
To wearing it on my sleeve

As much as I reassure her
I've never felt this way
She thinks that it's a game
I'm more than willing to let her play

I've never been aggressive
Well maybe that's a lie
But I'd happily hurt any person
Who'd purposely made you cry

I'm not the protective type
But I'd happily be your knight
Cause we both know you're my baby
Despite the gap between our height
