The first thing she felt was the warmth of the sunlight on her face. Then the dizziness and pounding of her heart in her head. And then the aching pain of rough rope strangling her skin. As the room stopped spinning it landed on a cracked window with a beam of sunlight shining on her face. Wood planks were missing or barling hanging onto the walls and the grey stone was covered in green moss and weeds. She could see the whole forest outside, the forest that left her alone, the forest filled with heavy thick trees. Only she didn't know if it was the same forest, or where she was now that she thought about it. It was just her in the room, closed off with a door leading to who knows what. The wooden kitchen chair was hurting her back as her ankles and wrists were tied to the chair with splitting rope. As the creaking of the door opened, she realized she had been kidnapped. Her mind was fogged and she questioned how long it had been since she last ate. She stared right into the blue eyed man as he sat down in front of her in a rocking chair.
"What's your name princess?"
"What's yours old man?" she asked adding her own name for him, as he did for her.
"Liam, now Angel, you're probably wondering how I know your name," her blank face allowed him to continue as she had no interjections, "we looked you up. I know, sounds creepy for a precious thing like yourself. But don't worry you'll never have to see your family again," he smirked looking at her with an expecting look. She raised her eyebrows, questioning his expecting look, she had no intentions of conversing with this man. He was expecting her to be upset or show some type of emotion. His face turned red as his voice growled with anger. He whipped something out of his dirty jean pocket and slammed his hand down, whipping Angel in the face with a belt. The throbbing instantly came in as she huffed her head up in aggravation.
"Fine, but tell me why you've kidnapped me," she demanded.
¨Easy prey and you look antisocial so you won't tell anyone." Prey. Although which was doing the hunting? The slam of a door echoed outside the room as drunk voices filled the air. The two other men drunkenly came into the room with belts in their hands. Her knuckles turned white gripping the chair.
¨Hudson, Tyler, where you been?" Liam asked shifting away from Angel.
¨At the bar. How long she been out?¨ Hudson, the short man out of the three asked.
"About a day."
Tyler, who was the other mountainous man, and Hudson snapped the belts sending a crack through the room. A shiver ran down Liam's spine. Angel braced herself as the belt stiked her over and over. The oozing of blood covered the area around her. And she was silent. No screams, just the rapid beating of her cold heart. The men slowly grew angry as she showed no pain.
"What's wrong with you?" Tyler rhetorically asked as he punched her in the eye. Each of them beat her with the whip and their hands, leaving their marks on her forever. This went on for what felt like eternity, but was only a few days. They thought she was a quiet and weak girl, but they were wrong. She was watching her prey. Each morning they would taunt her with breakfast but never give her any. Then they would beat her and in the evening go to the bar. Every single day they came home drunk and passed out on the couch.
