"You go baby!" I yelled onto the court as my son scored. I was at a local Girls and Boys Club for my 9 year old sons basketball game.

Being the proud mother I am-every time my sons team scored I'd be yelling as if they saved the world.

The parents of the other team were side-eyeing me and yelling things at me, but did I care? My son was kicking they ass.

"You betta get em PJ!!" I screamed. The score was 38-20 and it was just about the end of the game. I sat back in the bleachers where I felt vibrating coming from my purse. When I took my phone out I saw it was from my sons father, Paul George.

"Hey Paul, what's up?" I asked. "Nothing much I just wanted to know if after my practice is over, could I take PJ out for the day to give you some rest?"

My wittle heart warmed up.

"Yeah of course that's fine. His game is almost over with now, I'll just take him home so he can get cleaned up and you can pick him up from there".

"Aight see you in about a hour"

I hung up and put my phone back in my purse. The game went on for another 2 minutes and the boys won.

Afterwards I walked over to PJ and gave him a hug. "Good game PJ!" I said to him.

"Thanks ma! Coach said I had 13 points." I gave him a high five and picked him up while hugging him. "Great job buddy. You wanna hang out with daddy today?"

"Yeah!" He screamed. I laughed as we headed out to the car. On the way out I talked to a few other parents and his coach.

We got into the car and I called his dad so they could talk. I put the phone on speaker while it was ringing. "Hello" he answered.

"DADDY DADDY GUESS WHAT" was all I heard come from PJ. I chuckled hearing them go back and forth about basketball and what they would be doing for the day.

I stopped paying attention to their conversation after a while and it just became background noise.

"Do you want to mommy?" I looked down at PJ, trying to guess what he said.

"Sorry P I zoned out, what'd you say?" I said as I shook my head.

He sucked in some air, like he was annoyed. Swear he's so dramatic, and he gets it from his daddy. "I said do you wanna hang out with me and Daddy today?"

I shrugged my shoulders. I had nothing to do for the rest of the day, and it would be nice for PJ to spend time with the both of us.

"Yeah that's fine" I said loud enough so Paul could hear. "Great! I have a surprise for the both of y'all" he sounded like a kid.

One of the things I love about him

"Alright sounds like a plan. We'll see you in about an hour?" I questioned.

"Yeah, I'll pick you guys up at 3". I looked at the time, it was 1:30 now. "Ok we'll see you then"

"BYE DADDY!" Pj screamed. Paul laughed at his little twin. "Bye P see y'all later".

He hung up just as we pulled into the driveway. Me and PJ hopped out of the car and walked up to our beautiful home.

It wasn't too big since it was just the two of us, but it wasn't small either. Before me and Paul broke up, we lived in this house together.

"Go upstairs and wash up" I said to PJ as I headed in the kitchen to make him a snack. I turned the tv on as I cut up some fruit and made a fruit smoothie for myself.
