Chapter 7 : Hang Out

It's Thursday already. Time flies so fast. Dayu was going to his 2nd class. His classmates chatted nonstop like chatterboxes.

"Dayu, do you know that there will be a new student here?" Qiu Shi said.

"Oh, really? Ahh! I remembered. It must be Wang Qing's childhood friend. His name is Xu Wei Zhou and he was back from USA."

"Whoa, did you see him yet?"

"No, not yet. We'll see him in a while. See? The music has rung, the class will begin soon. Let's sit and take a look at the new student," Dayu smiled happily.

The Geography teacher came to the classroom bringing a new student.

"Okay class. Let me introduce you to your new classmate. He is Xu Wei Zhou. He was back from USA after two years leaving our country. Please treat him well."

The students are all excited. Xu Wei Zhou is a cute and handsome guy. The girls all went 'kyaaa' and the boys cheered, welcoming the new student.

"Xiao Zhou, your seat is behind Dayu," The teacher pointed at the empty desk behind Dayu.

"Thank you, Sir," Wei Zhou replied politely. He bowed and walking to his seat. He smiled at Dayu slightly when he walked pass Dayu. Dayu smiled back and mouthed 'welcome home' to him.

Just like that, the class began.

Dayu's POV

Wang Qing's friend is surely a cute guy. He has beautiful smile. The girls at class gathered around him after the class has ended. I wanna introduce myself to him too, but I have to meet Wang Qing now. Ah! I should tell Wang Qing about it. He must be so happy.

"Dayu," Wang Qing called me and waving his hand. We met at the school's café like usual.

I came to his direction and sat down. "Zhou-Zhou was in my 2nd class," I informed him happily.

"Oh? How is he?" Wang Qing asked curiously.

"Why are you asking me? He is your friend."

"Well, I didn't see him for a long time. I'm dying to see him soon," Wang Qing said with a big smile and laughed.

"He looks so cute. He smiled a lot and all the classmates welcomed him well."

"Glad to hear that. I hope he could make friends as much as possible. Don't forget our date this Saturday," He winked at me.

"I know," I ducked my head in embarrassment.

Wang Qing's phone is ringing. "Zhou-Zhou called me," he picked it up. "Zhou-Zhou, where are you? I'm with a friend at the café."

"Oh, Qingge. Where is the café?"

"Ask other student around. They'll tell you. I'm at the right corner of the café."

"Okay. I'll be right there."

"See you soon," He hung up. "He will be here. I'll introduce you to him."

I smiled and sipped my juice that he ordered for me. We talked for a while before finally we spotted Zhou-Zhou inside the café. We waved at him and he smiled brightly while doing a little running toward us.

"Qingge! I miss you so much," He hugged Wang Qing and sat beside him.

"I miss you too. How have you been? You look great. Ah, this is my friend, Dayu," I bowed slightly and reached out my hand for a handshake.

"Oh, Dayu... You are my classmate, right? You are the one who sit in front of me. Nice to know you," He shook my hand.

"Me too. Let's just drop the formality," I said smiling.

We chatted a lot while eating. I got to know Zhou-Zhou more. I could clearly see that Wang Qing and Zhou-Zhou have a deep friendship that bound them together. Zhou-Zhou told me so many things about Wang Qing's embarrassing story. We laughed a lot and I felt so happy.

Saturday, 10:00 AM

It was finally Saturday. My heart was beating so fast. Relax Feng Jian Yu! It's not a date! You are just hanging out with your friend. That's it. I'm waiting for Wang Qing in front of school's gate.

"Oh! Wang... Qing..." I was rather surprised because he is with Zhou-Zhou.

"Dayu, I brought Zhou-Zhou along with us. It's been a long time since he came to the Amusement Park. He studied a lot in the State and barely has time for playing. So I asked him to go with us," Wang Qing explained it all while smiling and circling his arm around Zhou-Zhou's shoulder.

"I'm glad you asked Zhou-Zhou to come. Let's go and have a lot of fun!"

At the Amusement Park

The date turned out to be a hang-out-with-friend event. Wang Qing and Wei Zhou looked really happy today. Dayu was unexpectedly feeling a little down. He understands that Wang Qing is so happy to go out with Wei Zhou because they didn't see each other for two years. But he felt like Wang Qing was ignoring him and just giving his attention to Wei Zhou. Well, things went up just like what Dayu wanted it to be, 'hang-out with friends, not a date'. But somehow, Dayu felt so sad about that.

"Hey! Let's go to the Haunted-House!" Wang Qing said cheerfully. He didn't wait for Dayu and Wei Zhou to answer. He walked fast to the Haunted-House direction.

"HEY! Wait for us!" Dayu screamed and started to run. Wei Zhou ran and laughed behind Dayu.

"You guys are too slow! Hahahaha..." Wang Qing stand in front of the building, "Come on, guys. Are you scared? There will be just fake ghosts inside. What's there to worry about?"

"I'm not scared!" Dayu said huffing and crossing his arms on his chest.

"Hahahaha... It's fine. Let's just go inside," Wei Zhou said with a smile.

They were going inside and Dayu was screaming out loud when he felt a hand touching his ankle. Wang Qing and Wei Zhou just laughed, Dayu huffed in annoyance. There were nothing inside that could make Wang Qing screamed, surprised, shocked, or scared, instead he laughed whenever there are ghosts that following them or trying to scare them. Wei Zhou was so pale. He is surprisingly scared of the ghosts. He held Wang Qing's hand tightly and sometimes hugging Wang Qing when the ghost startled him. Dayu wasn't scared any more. He walked behind Wang Qing and Wei Zhou, watching all that happened. He didn't like the scene in front of him.

What's with him? Why did he act like that? Did he like my Qingge? Wait, he isn't mine. Well, he is my boyfriend. But Zhou-Zhou didn't know that. Why did it make me so pissed off! Stop it Dayu! Don't be like a bitch! They are just friends. Wang Qing likes you, okay?

Dayu tried to calm himself down. Even though he hugs and kisses a lot with Wang Qing, but he realized that he never holds hand with Wang Qing. He was unconsciously jealous when he saw Wang Qing and Wei Zhou holding hands the whole time inside The Haunted-House. When finally they reached the end of the Haunted-House they went out with a loud laugh.

"Qingge, let's go to the Ferris-wheel. You promised me that we will ride it together when I come back to Beijing," Wei Zhou said still holding Wang Qing's hand. Dayu felt so uneasy, his heart started beating so fast.

"But Dayu..." Wang Qing looked at Dayu.

"Dayu..." Wei Zhou said looking at Dayu, "I really wanna ride the Ferris-wheel together with Qingge, just the two of us. I dreamt of it since long time ago. I hope you don't mind if you..."

"It's okay," Dayu smiled, "You guys just go to the attraction. I wanna buy ice cream. I was actually so scared inside there, I wanna calm myself down."

"Thank you! You are so kind," Wei Zhou hugged Dayu.

"Then, we'll see you at the ice cream stand," Wang Qing said waving at Dayu while being dragged by Wei Zhou. Dayu waved back to Wang Qing, smiling. When both of them were out of his sight, he turned around and sat on the bench nearby. His chest felt like it was being squeezed so hard. He remembered at the time when he went to the Ferris-wheel with Wang Qing and of course about Wang Qing's confession too.

Why are you feeling so sad, huh? Stupid, stupid heart.
