I leave my window open when I sleep sometimes.
Probably not the best idea but it's a habit I picked up. Plus in the summer my room gets hot and it's nice to have a breeze going! I live in the south, Tennessee, to be exact. I used to leave it open because she lived next door and she used to leave hers open. I could always hear her laughing and singing. She would smile at me when I looked up from my homework at her. She was so amazing, the prettiest girl I had ever seen. She had light chocolate skin and curly hair. She always had a bright colored makeup on and everything she did seemed magical.
She used to joke that she was the real reason I had broken up with Kameron. It hadn't been but how could I argue with an angel like her? Things hadn't ended well and then they moved. Our problems hadn't been resolved and I still left my window open.
In retrospect I should have just kept it closed. Maybe things wouldn't have ended so poorly. Maybe things wouldn't have happened the way they did, and maybe, just maybe, I wouldn't currently have a teenage boy in my room, digging through my underwear drawer.
