"So how's my favourite niece doing?" Technically I wasn't his niece I just saw him as we both just saw each other as family. I've known him since I was basically just coming out the womb. He was in the waiting room comforting my dad when my mom had died.
"I'm okai, Dad's sending me to school yanno" I rolled my eyes and looked over at my dad.
"Dude, seriously? School, it's too late to send her to school"
"EXACTLY!" I spoke making sure I exaggerated every letter of the word.
"Now now, don't the both of you start ganging up on me, I told you I have no choice sweetpea" My Dad replied with annoyance as he walked over to the kitchen to make himself some coffee. That was something my Dad always appreciated, a good cup of coffee, according to Bill, it's been my Dad's routine to wake up, shave if necessary, floss, then have a cup of black coffee, it was a routine he had gotten used to before my Mom had died, she liked to be prepared and enjoyed making sure my Dad was prepared too. That must be where I get it from, I liked being prepared too, it makes me feel confident.
"Do me one while you're at it" spoke Bill nodding his head towards my Dad's direction. Bill was a good looking guy for his age. He has short brown hair that reached just past his jawline, it's strange it aways seemed like he put product in it every morning, it always looked so voluminous. He had a fill grown beard and moustache, even had the side burns. His style was pretty casual, he didn't focus on it much seen as it was kind of scruffy but it a good way. He wore tight black ripped jeans and always wore some sort of black t-shirt with some rock band on it. He wore big combat boots constantly and a black jacket with a beanie, he also had the left side of this nose pierced too.
"Do you want anything?" My dad motioned his back to look towards me.
"Erm... do you have hot chocolate?" I asked with curiosity.
"Do I have hot chocolate? Pft, who doesn't have hot chocolate?" A smile grew on my face as he walked to towards the cupboard on the wall next to my Dad. He gripped the Cadburys hot chocolate powder and placed it next to my dad. Bill walked back over to his chair and sat down and pulled out his phone.
"Who are you texting" I wonder peering over at his phone, he instantly moved his phone out of view. Within a couple of seconds it turned out he was texting my Dad, as he pulled out his phone. I frowned with curiosity as to what they were talking about that couldn't concern me. We just sat in silence waiting for my Dad to finish the drinks. I felt a bit awkward, what if they were talking about me?
"Who was that Dad?"
"What?" He replied with fake confusion.
"Who text you?"
"Oh, no one just work" He was the CEO of a business called Jack's auto-car's. It was a pretty big business so he earned quite a lot of money.
"Oh" I replied.
"I'm telling the truth sweetpea, who else would it be?"
"I don't know, I'm sorry" he turned around and placed a steaming mug of hot chocolate on the table. I didn't like marshmallows or whipped cream so I couldn't really have any type of fancy hot chocolate that every other girl had. Hot chocolate had to be one of the best warm drinks ever.
