The cracking of bones and ripping of skin is only background noise to the blood wrenching screams. The young wolf pup cries out in agony.

He lies on the floor writhing in pain. His wolf is breaching his mind. Connecting with the rest of the pack. From what he'd been told shifting was horribly painful. This moment makes it seem like an understatement.

Once the pup is in full wolf form yips and cheers sound through out the field. The pack all congratulates the newly shifted. My father teaches him how to shift back. His clothes lay in shred on the ground- leaving him bare.

Turning around before anything else happened I walk away. My deep red hair sways behind me as it falls down my back from the loose ponytail. My eyes dart around the yard- on alert.

"Crimson mutt," the smooth, obnoxious, voice of the packs wanna be queen be resounds around the pack house. Only just entering to hear her voice makes me want to walk back out.

"Yes Barbie- I'm sorry Becky was it?" My voice sickly sweet. Some of the pack teenagers gather around. Filming, chanting, and trying to push by to watch.

"It's Brenda!" Her voice rings out.

"I'm sorry I thought the you changed your name to Barbie after you bleached your hair." She stays silent for a second so I take my chance to speak again. "You know the hair that's brighter than your future?" I taunt.

Brenda stomps her heels. Throwing a child like temper tantrum. "Daddy the mutt is being mean," she whines to her dad.

"Beta Jack I expect you to realize that your daughter is causing trouble and trying to start fights again. I expect that you'll find a way to stop her from starting an outbreak inside the pack." My alpha voice stays hard. Eyes piercing into the beta.

"I will try Crimson ,but not everyone is as fortunate to notice an outbreak before it starts." The beta answers me- nodding his head.

I turn on the heel of my bare feet and walk away.

"Crimson!" My fathers voice booms through the house- yelling my name.

I walk up the stairs and turn into his office. "Yes Dad?" My voice comes out irritated.

"The Alpha King will be coming to the pack." He announces.

"Okay."

"To find his mate."

"No."

"You have to look nice. Were he last pack he's visiting and he's becoming very impatient."

"Why. Why do I have to go?" Anger thick in my voice.

"He wants everyone there. He's coming tonight go get ready."
