Hi! Since there are some questions about the rules and stuff I will be making a rule book to make it easier. If you have any questions which aren't in this book, please feel free to message us.
So, firstly, it's CRITERIA.
Yes, judging criteria.
So criteria is split into 5 basic, simple parts.
GRAMMAR, VOCABULARY, SPELLING
PLOTLINE
BELIEVABILITY
FEELINGS
CREATIVITY ( For the book cover)
So first, there's Grammar, Vocabulary and Spelling.
It's pretty simple to gain points for these three. The one judging these is SteveTheLlama. All that you have to do is CHECK, and use the English language properly.
ABSOLUTELY NO SIGN LANGUAGE IS ALLOWED.
Like, if you write some thing like this:
Example:
Hi!!! Mi name is Britt, shot fr britttney. We had btr noe who I am.
This, is one of the examples of text language. You're basically using short forms for nearly every single word in a sentence. THAT, is definitely not allowed.
And if you notice, I put we instead of they as the first word of the second sentence. That is counted as a grammar error.
So for this sentence, you lose points in both grammar and spelling.
Vocabulary is much easier to understand. Just use appropriates adverbs and adjectives. You must have a wide variety of them. Hence, this is easier said than done.
Example:
Mr Matthew Thomas was not an ordinary business salesman. Under that polite smile and friendly tone, there was a greedy, malicious gleam in his eye. The kind of gleam which all salesmen would have. He had striking red hair and his crisp business suit had no wrinkles in it whatsoever. This man was horrid, foul indeed, putting on a facade to fool those gullible people.
That's an example of a descriptive paragraph. However, make sure that you don't put in TOO many adjectives, otherwise some people won't be able to understand what you're talking about.
Use your ENGLISH language, people! Pardon me if I seem rude.
Although some of you may not be the best in English, or English is your second language, it's best that you at least TRY. Language is important. Language is the essence of life.
Okies, random rant about English over.
Now, there is PLOTLINE.
The biggest ever disappointment to me, is PLOTLINE. I'm lollolbern1234, the person whose judging your plot and most of your creativity.
My criteria isn't severe or anything, but there are some problems.
First, YOUR INTRODUCTION.
Ohmygosh, this one is the WORST.
People, could you please not put your characters bio data at the start? Use your English, people! Are you really that bad at describing people that you have to put everything at the start? Here's an example:
Name: Bern
DoB: 17th July 1887
Age: 1999
Hair colour: Dark brown
Eye colour: Dark brown, almost black
Likes: Cute animals and the colour red
Dislikes: Doors
