The night blanketed London like thick quilt, leaving most places dark and quiet as can be. Nothing but the novice sound of the street lights humming almost silently. The dim lights lined the empty streets making spot lights on the pavement. Things were still, and clam. Under one of the street lights stood a man taking a drag from a cigarette and softly breathing the smoke out. The man was almost as still as the night, he was tall, thin, and wearing a large trench coat. His movements were slow and silent in accordance with the hours of which London has fallen upon.
The man slowly tapped the cigarette ashes to the ground and decided he was was done smoking. He dropped the smoking bud and gracefully stamped it into the ground as he walked back into the flats by the street light he was standing under. His form seemed to glide in the midnight air, walking up to the steps right to a door that read,

John Watson, was a simple man, who lead a simple life right up until he fought in the war. Afghanistan to be precise. But even after he got back, his life returned to its regular simplicity, boring, in fact, even more boring than it was before. John never liked the quiet, not one bit. John had never found his soulmate either. All of his friends seemed happy, with their wives and husbands. Nobody was alone. Nobody but him. They stopped paying attention to John after he left for war. He had no one, was all he could ever think in the back of his head. Nobody. He almost doubted he would ever not be alone since the universe seemed so keen to keep him isolated. His therapist, always told him to look up, it was only a matter of time. Making him write his blog about his ordinary life. It just didn't help. John still keeps his gun on his nightstand, he seemed so doomed to be alone. All of his friends leaving, never finding his soulmate, it may just be too much.
You see, John is in therapy for a psychosimatic limp, PTSD and his therapist is starting to think depression. Although, depression is normal when you don't find your soul mate, it leaves you with most alone feeling and starts to pick at your mental state. The therapist starts suggesting that John get out more, date or something to find someone. Or get a roommate so the therapist doesn't worry about him hurting himself or worse. John always rejected what she said, but in truth he may be in need of a roommate since he couldn't keep paying for his apartment with his army penance. So for the first time, John tries to listen to her and decides to ask around a little. Thats when he runs into his friend, Mike Stanford.
"John?" John keeps on walking, thinking the call maybe for someone else, why would anyone know his name?
"John Watson!" John turns around face to face with his old army buddy, Mike.
"Mike! Your in london? I never expected to see you here!" John said, trying to smile, but it always feels like a million weights dragging the corner of his lips down, so he stops.
"John, you look a little pale there, is everything all right?" John sighed and in his head he hears, 'oh here we go again...'
"John.... Have you found a soulmate yet?..." John sighed yet again and shook his head and said, "no" Mike then, tried to change the subject, very poorly at that.
"Well... Gosh I'm sorry, you must be feeling so low, especially after getting back from the war- nevermind. Hey you looking for a roommate? I know the army penance probably isn't cutting it, plus you look thinner than ever before!" John thought about it for a second, "Mike, as much as I value our friendship, i really don't want to share a place with you and your wife." Mike just looked a bit confused before his face lights up.
"Oh not me! A friend of mine, you should meet him! John he really needs a roommate too so will you at least meet the man? I'm sure you too will get along great!" John just rolled his eyes, "alright fine, its not like I have much else to do." Mikes eyes lit up at John's words.
