At around 2 in the morning, Kaycee has decided she's dealt with enough drunk people for the night, and maybe even the rest of April. So, she goes around looking for her very drunk best friend whom she had already saved from quite a few guys. Luckily for her, it wasn't very hard as Makayla is just lounging around the fire, sobering up, and didn't argue when Kaycee told her she wanted to go home. The only words she muttered were "You didn't drink, right?" to witch Kaycee shakes her head.
The ride is uneventful, barely anyone is out at this time. Makayla has fallen asleep in the passenger seat and Kaycee is left alone with her thoughts. She thinks back to last Sunday, at her and her dad's favorite fishing spot. It's always been just the two of them there because the lucky spot was hidden down a 10 minute long trail that was quite the hike but always worth it because they rarely came home empty handed.
Kaycee's mind drifts to the fish nuggets her mom would make once they got home and they could all enjoy a nice family dinner. Sunday's have been her favorite days for as long as she can remember.
She got so wrapped up in her memories she didn'tnoticed the black car, driving without lights on, swerve into her lane. And suddenlyeverything went black.
