"Bye mum" she said before leaving for her school.
"Luna! You're forgetting something, again." said her mother.
"Ugh...right.Coming!" she replied.
"Okay then, sweety. See you." she said after planting a little kiss on Luna's cheek.
"Bye" she said and finally left.
Luna was waiting for the bus at the bus stop when a new girl came. Luna was popular and was expected to act like all the other rude, popular kids. Exactly why the meanies were popular, but she was different, she knew how to treat everyone. In the goddess way and the bitch way, both. The new girl was beautiful, not the sexy kind with deep curves but yes, a-competition-to-Luna kind of beautiful. Luna tried hard not stare at her beauty, but like every other person she failed.
Luna was staring at her when she noticed her looking at her and she turned her head towards Luna. Luna tried not to make it awkward, but it already was so she waved at her. The new girl smiled back and said, "Hi!"
"Hey, I'm Luna and you are..." she trailed off.
"Venera." she completed.
"That sounds beautiful, what does it mean?" Luna asked curiously.
"Venus. In Russian. My dad lived in Russia for four years and fell in love with both, the language and my mother who is an astronomer. Well, both of them are." she explained.
"Ya, that explains everything. You guys have shifted here because of their project, right?" she said while laughing.
"Right. I'll be going to Pinewood Highsc-" Venera was saying and Luna cut her off.
"Oh my God, that's great! I can show you the school." she added.
"Whao...same school! High five on that!" Venera exclaimed and raised her hand for a five.
Luna high fived her and the bus arrived. Both boarded the bus and grabbed the last seats. They sat with Luna's popular friends, and as expected they started interrogating her about the new girl. Luna explained how they became friends at the bus stop, she told them what her name was and voila she was their friend now.
This was expected, she was the 'queen bee' of the group.
She had a new friend, she lived near her place and was in her school. Could this get any better? Venera was there with Luna the whole day in school, they had the same classes and the sat together in lunch with the whole group. Their whole time-table was same except for two or three classes which they had a choice in.
Both of them had a great day, or shall I say a great year.
