Chapter 1

You stared out the car window as the leftover raindrops from a previous drizzle of rain had streamed down, you sighed to yourself and looked to your father who was driving

"Dad are we almost there?"

You couldn't stand being in the car much longer, you see your father was a writer known as Matthew (y/l/n) and needed to finish his new book. He wanted to move away from hustle and bustle of your previous town, so when he saw the house up for rent he took the opportunity to get some peace and quiet in this town you never even heard of.

"A little further (y/n) I promise"

Your name is (y/n) (y/l/n) and looked all like your mother who had died when you were a child, from your (h/c) hair to your (e/c) eyes you were all your mother with hints of your dad. You sighed again and looked ahead seeing you were already pulling into the old run down town. The people stared at your car as you drove by and you made a mental note at the lack of children and teens your age, it was strange but you didn't think much of it and slumped back in your seat as your dad pulled off into road leading into a wooded area of the town to a small villa nearby to a lake that you could see in the distance behind the home as you got out of the car. You helped your dad with the bags and walked up to the house looking up as you saw the curtains shift slightly but there was nothing there. Your father opened the door and you both walked in admiring the place, it looked recently renovated probably for guest.

"Alright (y/n) i'm giving you the skeleton key, go find your room sweetheart"

With that you received the key and went up the stairs to find your room, you went to the left to a door at the end of the hallway and opened it up, it was a beautiful room with a big bed and shelves stacked with books, specifically old literature and on the paranormal for some strange reason on both sides of a fireplace. You set your bags down and decided to go explore the rest of the house.

You explored every room you could but one down the other end of the hallway away from your room, you walked to it then stopped when you stepped in what felt like water and looked down seeing some seep from under the door to the room and quickly put the key in to see what spilled or if something was leaking but the door wouldn't budge and the key wouldnt come out it was stuck! You sighed trying to stay calm not wanting to alarm your dad even as more water seeped out and you decided to try your luck and tryed to force the door open until you heard what sounded like laughter and a loud pop before it felt like electricity was running through your body and you collapsed on to the cold hard floor and blacked out as your father ran to you.

"(y/n)!?"

Thats all you remembered as you slowly sat up in your bed with your dad beside you and held your head

"Ugh what happened?"

Your mind was a little hazy with things

"Some idiot worker left his water bottle in that other room and it spilled, you slipped on the puddle it made and hit your head pretty hard sweety"

You looked at him in disbelief

Thats not how you remembered it at all...
