*TIME SKIP*Last Day Of Alpha School

*KATE'S POV*

I slowly woke up from my slumber and walked out and my Trainor was standing in the field with 4 Caribou stacked on top of each other she smiled at me as I walked over

"Early as ever Kate you never seem to disappoint me and by the way you wait here while I go give them more than a wake up call" she winked at me

I sat down waiting for the other members to arrive for breakfast I waited until a huge crowd of wolves walked over and started conversating

A grey-hazel mixed wolf walked over to me and sat down beside me her purple-blue eyes met my brown ones

she was my friend since I started alpha school her name is Katie the other girl wolves was stuck-up and had an attitude but, Katie was different it's a good thing she's from my pack or other wise I wouldn't see her again and Katie did go out with a wolf named Hunter but, she broke up with him when she caught him having sex with another female behind her back it went on for quite awhile but, all that's water under the bridge

"Hey Kate how's it going"

"Nothing, just the usual waking up before anyone else it's kind of a hobby but, you'll get used to it"

"I don't understand how you can do that and oh and another thing have you heard?

"Heard what?

"That you are going to be  challenging the most vicious wolf there is! She exclaimed

"You don't mean I have to fight colton?

"Yes, you are.......coach told us while I was over there"

"Listen up fleabags as you all know that there is going to be a one on one challenge with the  best fighting skills and that will be kate and Colton one of my best alphas" she said

As soon as I heard my name I walked to the battle ground and standing in front of me was a black and white mixed wolf with piercing silver eyes staring dead into my soul and he was well built too I looked over at Katie and she gave me a reassuring smile and mouthed everything will work out just fine

I swallowed a lump in my throat and took a deep breath

"Ok when I count to three you will start. Ok on my mark ready.....get set.....GO!

We ran at each other I did flip in the air and landed on his back and bit the scruff of his neck he growled and threw me off pinning me down

With my teeth bared and my claws unsheated my paw contacted his face leaving three claw marks he growled and stumbled back he then tried to run at me but, I stepped aside and Bit his tail he yelped and swiped just inches away from my face

I jumped up and bit his neck instantly knocking him down I then clawed his side three times and then swiped his face he pushes me off and scratches my side leaving marks

I then ran at him and bit his ear instantly locking my jaws on it he tried to release and squirm but, I  just wouldn't let go.

Soon I let go and scratches his face he fell down not getting back up. He just laid there

"I say the winner of this challenge is Kate well done come on Colton let's get you to the healers" and she walked away with him limping behind

Blood was sprayed on the melting snow my fur was damped with sweat, and my sides burning like hell I then grabbed a pawfull of snow and put it on my side to slow down the burning and it eventually did

I looked over And saw the group with their mouths wide open I then asked

"What?

Then they instantly started cheering and ran over to me and then Katie asks

"Did you just beat Colton? you literally had his ear bleeding" gawked Katie

"What, I'm not that good" Kate said playfully/bragging

Everyone went their separate ways and me and Katie started standing in the middle of ground and all of a sudden Katie tackled me and starting screaming in my face

"That was so awesome! Colton didn't even get a chance to fight back! I guess he's not so vicious after all. She got off of me and sat down waiting for me to get up

I got up and shook the dirt and snow off of me

"Well, I'm going to go hop in that lake and get this dirt and sweat off of me" I started to walk to the lake I put my claw in the water to test it i then put my whole paw in there

It was slightly warm not to mention the sun shining directly on it. I put my whole body in savoring the liquid against my fur

I scrubbed the dirt off my fur surprisingly a brown substance started to form around me. Just realizing it was dirt I traveled further in the water and dunked under and came back up

I swam to shore and shook the water off my coat. I found a pine cone and brushed my golden/tan fur instantly smoothing it.

The next few minutes flew by and I was clean of the messy substance I saw Katie walking towards my direction and I walked to her direction and she said

"Come on Kate the coach and the others are waiting for you"

I walked over and sat by Katie and the coach was walking along the group and sat down in front of us

"Well, alphas tommorow you guys are free to go home it's been a harsh yet trainable winter and you guys proved to me that you will be great leaders one day and I wish you all well. And in the future I wish to say good luck and do your best work you guys are dismissed"

Everybody started head out. Some was laughing, happy, sad, grateful, and even angry that they was going home and as for me I couldn't wait to see Humphrey

I actually missed those blue eyes of his and I was very glad to go home. It's been a long and tough winter and I managed to go through it to prove to myself that I am worth it. I will do anything to protect my pack

Even if I have to kill myself just to make things worth while
