"Sophia Rose get back here right now!" Her mom called out.
"No!" Sophia cries as she runs behind her sister Olivia.
I never know what to do when mother yells at Sophia and I. She is constantly abusing us but I've gotten used to it, it's Sophia I'm worried about. She's only 10 and doesn't deserve this. She's the sweetest kid on the planet.
SMACK! SMACK! SMACK!
I get pulled out of my thoughts and instantly regret not paying attention when I find my mother pinning Sophia down slapping her. I grab Sophia and run up to our room, then lock the door.
I start packing my gym bag that's big enough to hold the essentials for both of us. Once Sophia and I both had everything we needed I grab all the money in my safe that I saved up from working and put it in my bag. Sophia and I quietly made our way down stairs and when we saw that mom wasn't around we booked it out of there and down the road off into the endless trees of what we call fog forest.
Sophia and I have always been scared of this forest but there's no where else we can go where either our mother nor the Vampires will fined us.
