I laid on the cool grass staring up at the summer sky. The wind blew and my house creaked. It was an old house after all, but this time it felt different. Like it wanted me to hear it.
I sat up in the yard and looked around. A feeling of uncontrollable fear shook me. My house shook with the wind and it never stopped. It was continuous and the shaking became more violent as time passed.
I got up and walked towards it, as though the creaking called me nearer. As I approached the siding, everything stopped. The world fell silent.
The only noise was a soft voice that sounded like it came from a little girl and it spoke out, "Come play with me, Layla. Forever?"
The next thing I saw was a little girl in a pink dress and she had blood dripping from her forehead. She held a brown worn out teddy bear in one hand and a knife in the other. She jumped out of the low, living room window right on top of me, and pinned me to the ground.
"My name is Sally. Now we can be together forever and ever and ever. Let's play a game!"
I felt a sharp pain electrify my entire body. Warm, sticky liquids soaked my clothing. I was too weak to look. The girl giggled.
The only thing I saw before the dark emptiness of death was the girls bright green eyes starting right into mine.
