I was lying on a silver table in a pale grey hospital gown, my auburn hair slightly curled naturally, my alabaster skin which I remembered more tan was smooth not at all affected by the incident with the thorns.
The incident.
The machine next to me beeped. The heart monitor was warning me that my heart had beaten too fast in too short of a time. I didn't notice it 'till that moment all the different types of needles with different types of strange liquids held in place with different types of tape.
Suddenly a man in a white lab coat materialized out of the shadows. He must've been their this whole time, I guess. He had a scar that stretched from his brow to his chin, lined with an unusually square jaw with a huge cleft in his chin as if God himself scooped it out while in the making saying "This'll make him more handsome! Oops! Bad idea!". On the tip of the stout man's nose sat a pair of circular spectacles that seemed to fog up every time he exhaled.
I immediately sat up, feeling uncertain with the whole situation. Think about waking up after flying into a pile of writhing thorns in a lab, in a hospital gown, with a fat but pretty intimidating man speaking to you, and you'll understand my confusion.
"Hello child. You've finally returned from the External Dimension!"
I was confused
I looked down at my small 14-year-old self, I haven't hit a growth spurt, yet. I guess I DO look like a child, I thought to myself.
"Who are you?" I asked suspiciously, but it accidently came out bratty.
"Dr. Guntherbran." He replied, all too happily. Ever since he saw me he had this big, dopey smile on his face.
I looked around, curious.
"Where are we?" I asked, hoping for a better answer than what would come up.
"Why, the External Dimension, of course!"
I folded my arms. Still not satisfied with my answer, I asked sounding, I'll admit, stuck up "Ya, but where is that exactly?"
Dr. Guntherbran lost that stupid smile immediately which made my spirit lift but sink again after he spoke.
"Well, it's hard to explain." But I, eager for answers, said leaning in "I've got all the time in the world."
Just then a dark-skinned woman also with a lab coat and scar, though more red like a burn and on the collarbone instead of across her oval face. Her glassy jet black hair held back in a tight bun and square shaped glasses would've made me inch away in seconds if it wasn't for thee twinkling green eyes. With those sparkling emeralds seeming to wink at me, I couldn't help trusting her.
She smiled at me. Her teeth were as white as pearls, not a single flaw in their smooth surface. They seemed completely opposite from her mahogany skin, like Yin and Yang in perfect harmony.
Then, she spoke. Her voice as sweet as birds singing, as smooth as stones on a riverbed, and the words seemed poetic, like a Shakespeare hot fudge sundae.
I couldn't help but trust her.
"You've returned! Ok, you look so grown up since I put you in the Internal Dimension. How was it? Have you taken the survey?"
After taking in the (probably not intentional) beautifully spoken words, I was still bewildered about what it all meant.
I asked, still stunned by the beauty she radiated, "Who are you and what do you mean?"
She looked shocked, her emerald green eyes large like saucers and mouth wide in an oval shape as her defined jaw had dropped.
Then, her gaze turned to Dr. Guntherbran. The fat man with thick sturdy legs had been inching away as soon as Dr. Gorgeous walked her iridescence into into the room. She frowned.
