A warm welcome to Adult Fiction's second 'virtual' interview. I will be your host, Alanna, speaking on behalf of the team. Our guest author today is B.G. Davies, author of Nika: A general fiction novel, which also happens to be the Book of the Month for our Profile.

I spot B.G. Davies standing near the ski lift. He looks professional in his ski attire. Two nights ago, he learned I was from a tropical country and had no skiing experience. He promised me an adventure on the slope and here we are now, exchanging greetings on the ski lift. Once we reach the top, my body starts shaking tremendously. I have a fear of heights and I'm not sure how I'm going to manage our skiing trip. BG assures me that it's going to be fun. With wobbly legs, I move about in the snow. He teaches me a few tricks about skiing in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. This is a picture of him demonstrating his skiing tricks.

At last, I learn how to ski and skiing down the slope is indeed adventurous. Suddenly, the temperature begins to plummet. My ski suit doesn't seem to aid in keeping me warm, so we ski down to the lodge. After we freshened up, we make ourselves comfortable in front of the fireplace. We sit across each other with hot cocoa in our hands and that's when the interview begins.
A: It's a pleasure to finally meet you in person, BG Davies. I'm Alanna, a representative from the Adult Fiction Profile. I've read your work 'Nika'. It was fantastic. It swayed me off my feet just like the snow did. Tell our readers a little about your incredible book.
BG: First, I must say you did well for your first time skiing Alanna. Good for you. Tomorrow, we'll tackle the double black diamond terrain!
Nika is a story within a story within a story. In one narrative, we have the story of Richard, a man who has, in some people's opinion, the perfect life. He has a leadership role working at a world-class ski resort, a beautiful and devoted life partner, great friends. He is respected and loved. His life is pretty perfect until he meets Nika on the ski mountain. She is a beautiful and mysterious woman from Latvia with whom he falls in love. Although Nika has done nothing to provoke his affections, he becomes obsessed with her, to the point of risking destroying everything he has and hurting those who love him.
