Ellen
Mad was an understatement to what I was feeling right now. Was he hiding something from me? Yes and something important.
He must've noticed how annoyed I was because he wouldn't hold my stare longer than a second as he explained to the guys our evacuation plan."Jungkook take Ellen nowㅡ make sure you exit through the side stairs on the left we'll meet you out by the back garageㅡ try not to make a mess"
"Wait! What! Where are you going?" I asked before Jungkook tried pulling me with him."Baby... don't try anything just follow himㅡ I'll talk to you after we get out of this mess" Yoongi kissed my forehead before I was dragged out by Jungkook towards the elevator.
I took out the gun Yoongi had given to me in the morning and held it with both hands shaking as Jungkook loaded two of his guns.
"Hopefully we won't need them" Jungkook let out a shakey laugh in attempt to ease the atmosphere.
The doors opened faster than I had expected before I glanced at the buttons. We had only descended one floorㅡ below the office but before I could question it Jungkook was already running down the hallway.
I'd never really gone anywhere in this building besides the top floor so I was surprised to see how normal this floor looked as we rushed past small offices and conference rooms-- this floor seemed to be empty but it was past five which meant past office hours so not a lot of people were currently in the building.
"Why doesn't the top floor have this?" I whispered at Jungkook referring to the staircase as he lead me through the emergency exit.
"Safety purposes" he asked as he looked down the stairs making sure nobody else was heard.
"That makes no sense..." I replied before he covered my mouth. I held my breath as he slowly uncovered it only to reach for his gun--footstep echoes could be heard probably from the bottom floors and then a couple of overlapping voices.
"I doubt they'll take the stairs" I was able to distinguish one man's raspy voice.
"And why is that?" another deep voice questioned.
"Remember what he told us there's no emergency exit on the top floor dumbass! Let's go!" we heard a couple of footsteps before the loud bang of the door slamming.
"Jungkook we need to go back!" I tried pulling him by the arm but he wouldn't budge.
"Noona! Hyung was very clear about his plan we need to get out of here. I'm pretty sure they won't go on a shooting spree while there's civilians" he grabbed my hand and quietly pulled me with him as we descended the steps.
"What if something happens Jungkook?" I was feeling anxious and nervous just thinking about the rest of the guys. Jungkook must have felt my hand shaking because he stopped and cupped my face.
"Noona, I know my hyungs will be ok--they always areㅡ but I promised to keep you safe and that's what I'm going to do, I'll protect you" I stared into his eyes and processed his words before nodding.
A couple of minutes had passed by the time we reached the bottom of the stairs.
"How are we going to get past them?"
Jungkook didn't reply right away as he looked out the rectangular glass probably analyzing the scenario.I on the other hand could only wait since I couldn't see out the small window.
"Hyung doesn't want a mess but there's no other way out of here, we can't make a mess with the receptionists and workers walking past" Jungkook spoke after an eerie silence, he pulled out both his hand guns and clicked off the safety simultaneously.
