Nearly an entire day had gone by since Khonjin had been in the presence of Gino and his pizzeria, so for nearly an entire day, Gino had been a happy man. However, no matter his mood, it seemed apparent that Gino was never willing to give his customers a cheerful greeting.
"The fuck do you want?" He muttered after making his way to the front desk at the sound of someone entering.
"A warmer welcome would be a nice start..." You replied.
The guy before you smirked a bit. "Been a while since I've had someone in here that isn't screaming my ear off about wanting some damn pepperoni pizza." He chuckled, lightly. "Of course, that probably makes no sense to you..."
"I got the gist of this area long ago, don't worry." You assured him. "It's a miracle you haven't mentally snapped at this point."
"Believe me, I wonder how that isn't the case. Every. Single. Day." He sighed and then, even to your surprise, smiled to you. "I guess the company of the few people who AREN'T Khonjin keep me sane, though. People like you."
For a man so gruff, he was oddly cheesy. "Is that your way of asking me to stick around here?" You asked, not necessarily being turned off by this aspect of him.
He looked to the ground, as if to be in thought, and then back to you. "Is that your way of saying 'no'?"
"Don't be so quick to assume things, there. I'm not too busy, I can hang about for a bit."
"Come, I'll make you pizza, as I expect you were originally wanting." He said, lightly putting his arm around your shoulder as he headed back towards the kitchen doors.
You followed, but stopped when a gun was suddenly handed into your grasp. "Wait, what's this for?"
Gino still seemed rather happy, though, his voice leaked of bitterness when he spoke. "Just in case Khonjin comes..."
