Icarus

To the moon and back, on wings we shall soar
Waves glinting below us, soft and shiny
The wind whispering famed tales of yore
Tonight may be the night that we shall flee
The strength of your love is pushing me on
Though it seems like I can't keep steady
Our wings, prepared for flight at dawn
Even with my doubts that you aren't ready
I hear them coming, those who despise us
Up the steps, rushing on this darkened eve
And though they fear us, oh, how callous
They shoot, aim off, now is the time to leave
Let go, lift off, face toward the heavens, we fly
Wings light, water clear, face towards the sky
