I stood up and wiped my eyes, sighing and following after Niall. My heart was aching for the boy, he was hiding a secret, a bad one. I caught up to him and took his hand.

"Niall.." I said softly and calmly. He just stood there, completely still before looking down and turning around, looking into my eyes.

I bit my lip and looked down then back at him. "What is wrong?" I asked softly and he pulled his arm away.

"No.. no you need to go." He breathed and turned away again. I ran out infront of him and huffed.

"Not until you tell me what's going on!" I semi-shouted, looking at him. He looked away and sighed shaking his head.

"I'm not normal Jordan.. I'm not. Its best if you back away now and leave." He breathed and walked around me. I didn't go after him, I just stood there, watching the tall boy walk off, disappearing into his house.

I looked down and didn't say one word since.

The next day was pretty awkward. I walked into English and sat down next to Niall's empty seat, looking around for him. I couldn't sleep at all last night, the thought of the boy got to me. All I could think about was him.

About fifteen minutes into class he still wasn't there. I was beyond worried to this point. About a half an hour later, still no Niall in sight. I sighed to myself, replaying his little speech in my mind. My thoughts got interrupted by the loud piercing bell. I winced and sighed, grabbing my stuff and getting up, walking out of the classroom and to the lunchroom. I looked around for Avery and finally found her at our usual corner table. I sat next to her and sighed, biting my lip.

"Have you seen Niall anywhere?" I asked softly and looked around trying to see if I could find him.

Avery giggled and rolled her eyes. "Hello to you too girl. But no I haven't. Why so eager to find him?" She asked confused and I shrugged a little.

"I um.. needed to discuss our papers in English." I lied completely. She nodded and giggled, starting to ramble on about how hot her English partner was, I wasn't really listening, just thinking about Niall and only him.

"Jordan?" I heard her say with a snap of her fingers and I jolted up, looking at her.

"Yeah?" I mumbled, totally unaware of anything she was talking about. She scoffed and rolled her eyes.

"Who are you going to prom with?!" She asked with a little squeal and I stared at her like she had five heads.

"Prom?" I said dumfounded. Prom wasn't really my thing, I mean it seemed fun but who would ask a girl like me?

Avery nodded and looked around. "Yes prom! I cant wait, the theme is Masquerade Ball! Its totally gonna be fun. So who's your special date?" She asked with a huge smile plastered across her face. I rolled my eyes and chuckled a little.

"No one, I'm not going."  I said and stared at her. Her mouth hung open a little.

"Not going? To prom?! You have to go!" She whined and tugged at my arm. I sighed and shrugged a little.

"Depends if someone's gonna ask me or not." I mumbled and took a drink of my water, looking around.

Avery continued rambling on about prom and how her English partner asked her to prom. After lunch Avery and I went to the library to tutor some of the students in our grade. Even though I wasn't fond of teaching a bunch of people my least favorite topic, math. I was glad to be there to help.

I got a kid named Alice. She was a year younger then me, I was talking to her about factoring, showing her the basics when Avery came over to me with a tall, brown haired boy.
